Is it me or does it feel pretty chilly outside? The ABC7 News app says it’s 53 degrees but I’m sippin’ on hot chocolate and have the heat blasting. I hope that officials here in the states are closely watching what is happening right now in Europe. Virus pressure is mounting at French nursing homes, where more than 400 people with COVID-19 have died in the past week and some residents are again being confined to their rooms and cut off from their families.

It saddens me to see how divided our society is. I’ll try to be as quick as I can here. Brentwood man hangs dummy with a ‘Sleepy Joe Cheater’ sign around his neck and hangs it off his roof from a noose. It appears the dummy has a black face. 100-200 Protesters show up. Many are anti-Trump and BLM supporters. A nearby resident who is a Trump supporter calls out protesters and then it is on. Protesters tell him to go home, his wife pulls him towards their house, protesters follow and it is a back and forth. Complaints came into police all morning about this dummy hanging from a noose off of a home in Brentwood, California. The homeowner says, Last night I was so pissed off I had a dummy from Halloween hanging by a noose so I made a cardboard sign, put it around it’s neck that said, ‘Sleepy Joe (Cheater)’ on my second story roof. The man has since taken down the display. Brentwood Police posted this, On November 5, 2020 at around 8:10 a.m., Brentwood police officers responded... to a residence on Craig Ct. to investigate a report of a mannequin hanging from a tree. When officers arrived they discovered a mannequin hanging from a rope from the side of a 2nd story residence. The mannequin was clothed and displayed a black ball cap, covering the mannequin’s face, a long sleeved shirt, and denim blue jeans. A cardboard sign was across the chest of the mannequin and read Sleepy Joe (Cheater). Brentwood officers spoke with the homeowner who agreed to take the mannequin down. The mannequin was photographed by police and a police report was generated documenting the incident. The Brentwood Police Department consulted with the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office showing them the photograph of the mannequin displayed at the residence. The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that this act was not criminal, further stating offensive expression is protected under the First Amendment. The Brentwood Police Department’s investigation into this matter will be forwarded to the United States Secret Service for their review. See more

HAPPENING NOW IN SAN LORENZO, CALIFORNIA... Officials say about 20 people were trying to get inside a Big 5 store in San Lorenzo, and believe they were targeting the weapons section. Another 50 people were seen running away from the Walmart across the street, according to police.

Great job & phenomenal pictures! Yesterday after I posted my ‘I Voted’ picture dozens of you included yours in the thread. These are many of those shots from here in the Bay Area and beyond. Our Facebook & ABC7 News community is strong and I’m so proud knowing that we are making a difference in this country. I apologize for not including all of the pictures but I tried to include as many as I could. We may have different thoughts and ideas but we are voting Americans who have voiced our opinions on the ballot. We come in all shapes, sizes, and colors but we are all American and we are all united by the voice we have on Election Day! Great job voting and great pictures!

This 65-year-old Palmdale, California man received a heart transplant just days ago but still cast his ballot from his hospital bed. Awesome to see this kind of dedication!
