Edit: I read the families statements and comments. I concluded they don’t know what happened. Therefore, they cannot exclude suicide or confirm it was an accident. With that in mind let’s take this opportunity to educate each other as a community on the issue of suicide in children and the issue of gun safety. I do not want this to happen to any other child and this is not meant to be insensitive to a grieving family. My son has been struggling with online schooling but this caused me to have the conversation with my son. This is the same for adults. FYI! Let’s tell the truth, he was forced to plea in order to be released today, I heard it with my own ears! It’s disgusting that this is our justice system! We took the same oath! District Attorneys are not exempt from ethic rules! You are the reason the people do not have faith in our justice system! Meanwhile on July 4, 2020 Jana Omstead was involved in a domestic dispute currently pending in New Mexico! So I would assume he should have returned them to the jail in New Mexico? And did he have notice of the order or did you advise Bansmer law to electronically serve the attorney! I have never heard of constructive notice! You forced him to plea and are a disgrace to the oath you took!

This is disgusting and saddens me. They all are just acting like just another day in the office! Who the eff is an officer to claim that someone is on something and make that medical determination! Psych meds can make people act weird, mental health patients tend to be strong, what constitutes normal? Because someone is weird awkward or an introvert that gives the police the right to inquire? If A person wants to walk down the street talking to themselves, yelling an...d flailing arms, it’s their right! This is just unbelievable! And to have the nerve to sit them down like that, like it’s nothing. They should have called in their county counsel immediately because they all knew their power trip went to far, you literally see the officers face as they hear he flatlined! They took their power too far! I hope justice is served! Nothing will bring that boy back but that momma and siblings should be compensated without a fight from all agencies involved!
