When your wedding day is speeding by, make sure to pause and reset with your significant other. Breathe together, hold each other, just PAUSE. Remember how it feels, the sights, the smells, the sounds, take it ALL in. When you look back it might all feel like its in fast-forward. But that moment will be forever slow in your mind. : @kristinamotoweddings

Last night I had another volunteer shift with Sharp and in return I received my first dose of the vaccine! I feel very grateful to have gotten it, I am very hopeful for what the rest of this year might look like. Hoping good news comes for our industry this Friday when the new guidance is supposedly being released. We are ready to get back to doing what we love safely and responsibly. Can't wait to see everyone Anyone else get vaccinated yet? : @shaneandlaurenphoto

Today Kristana Marie Events turns 7! I remember my first solo wedding 7 years ago, and how insanely excited I was for it. I learned so much that day and have continued to learn and grow with every single couple I've worked with. Having my own business has been such an important part of my life and its truly become such a big piece of me. I remember first going to networking events, I didn't have a business card or any weddings under my belt yet, but I knew what I wanted and was so ready to get started. I love this amazing industry and the wonderful couples that I get to work with and celebrate. Truly feel blessed for all the good that this business has brought to my life... even through a pandemic and a million adjustments, I would choose it again everytime. Cheers to the next 7! #KMEturns7 : @the.mccunes

I truly LOVE a unique wedding dress. There's no rule that says it needs to be plain white if that doesn't feel like you. Be yourself, whatever that might look like! : @redtrolleystudio

Save California events! Today marks a year since the postponements began for us. We had no idea how long this would be an issue and certainly were not expecting it to spill into 2021. Our entire 2020 was spent postponing, canceling, and being the bearer of bad news for couples and vendors. A year has passed and we are STILL left without guidance. The California Association of Private Events (CAPE) has been working tirelessly since last summer to get us on track for safe re...opening. They've compiled all of the information and plans as to how we can do it safely and effectively, and it seems like their pleas have all but been ignored. We are the ONLY state with no opening plan for events. They have plans for reopening Disneyland and MLB in a few weeks but claim wedding receptions will only be allowed for up to 3 households through out every tier. This is outrageous. We are mad. We need REASONABLE and ECONOMICALLY VIABLE guidelines. Our businesses are struggling, our couples are exhausted. We can do this safely. We can operate in alignment with restaurant guidelines. We are dedicated professionals who are ready and willing to do things RIGHT. If you are a business or client who has been impacted by the devastation of the event industry being forgotten in the reopening plans, please share your story! They will be releasing further guidelines on March 19th and we need to be HEARD. They cannot keep treating small private events as if we are Coachella. They need to treat us as if we are a restaurant and let us follow along in their placement in the tier system. Again, we need economically viable and reasonable guidelines so we can move forward. Head over to @savecaevents and www.capecalifornia.org to join the movement and see how you can help save California events. *Email addresses in comments for where you can send your story!* #saveweddingsnow

Raise your glass! Anyone else have a different way of saying cheers? My husband is Serbian so we always say Živeli! After our wedding in Montenegro, all of our friends say it too. Make eye contact with everyone and cheers with energy & happiness! Živeli!

I've always been more of a savory person, but i'm starting to get more into baking and playing around with desserts at home! I made some nice pumpkin scones that we enjoyed with some coffee this morning. I recently bought the cookbook @heritagedesserts released and cannot wait for it to arrive! And I'm going to try my hand at creme brulee with the recipe and kit that @organicelements delivered last week. What are your favorite treats or desserts to make at home? Thanksgiving week! No clue how that's possible, but i'm rolling with it. How is everyone feeling going into the holiday? I know it might not be exactly the same as previous years, but I hope everyone finds a way to make it special in their own way. : @cloveandkin

Hi friends! Hope everyone is doing great. I miss everyone and have been wishing we could all be together celebrating! Though all my weddings moved to next year, I've been keeping busy in my personal life. After quarantining and both working from home in a tiny studio apartment in downtown, my husband and I finally purchased a home! We have been focusing on tons of renovations for the last few months and are fiiiiinally moving in this weekend. Our first night sleeping in the n...ew home will be tomorrow on Halloween! Can't wait to have space.... and doors! There's no way I would have had the time and capacity to do all this during fall wedding season in regular years. While I 100% wish we had back to back weddings like usual, this project and exciting new chapter has been such a blessing to keep me busy and creative! Its been so fun planning and designing everything with my husband and starting to see our visions come to life. Can't wait to see it all come together and to finally have a beautiful silver lining to hold on to for this year. Very grateful! Anyone else find their silver lining of 2020? I'd love to know what it is!

I sure do miss "gathering." Remember when that wasn't a bad word? I feel as though I will definitely NOT reach my hug quota for the year, so i'm gonna have to make up for it with double the hugs once things are back to normal. Get ready everybody. *Hugs* : @kristinamotoweddings

Lots of couples decide to run with the theme of "sweetness" when choosing their cake cutting song. "Sugar" by Maroon 5, "Build Me Up, Buttercup" by the Foundations, "How Sweet it Is" by James Taylor, "Cake by the Ocean" by DNCE. What's your favorite "sweet" song?

Hi friends!! I know its been a while (again), but I wanted to hop on and see how everyone is doing! This year has been SO long, but also it feels shocking that we are somehow almost in October already(??). It feels like nothing and EVERYTHING has happened at the same time. Its a weird year, without question. Is everyone hanging in there? Are you tired of people asking that? Don't you desperately long for those good ol' precedented times?? Sending virtual hugs and a few glasses of virtual wine to everyone. : @kristinamotoweddings

Anyone else much more drawn to the back of wedding dresses than the front? I LOVE a unique back! : @shaneandlaurenphoto

This has quite literally NOTHING to do with this photo. But my best friend and I were talking about it and I'm very curious where everyone's loyalties lie. So now for the important question... NSYNC or Backstreet Boys??

Kristana Marie Events 03.09.2020

I love when I first speak with a couple, hearing their story and what they are most excited about. I always ask what their main priorities are with their wedding, and some people haven't really thought about it. They've always thought of the wedding as a whole and haven't really picked apart the different pieces. But this is SUPER important to do early on. Everyone has different preferences, different things that have made an impact on them at past weddings, and things they w...ant their guests to remember. Its important to realize where your priorities lie so when making budget decisions you know where to push and where to pull. Make sure you are really getting the best you can in the categories that you personally feel connected to. Those are the things you'll remember most at the end. Tailor your wedding decisions to your own personal priorities, not what you think you SHOULD do. Make it your own and have fun with it! : @kristinamotoweddings See more

Take my hand and guide me straight into the weekend! Anyone got any fun plans lined up? : @spotlightstudios

I've always loved intimate weddings, and they are going to inevitably be more and more common because of the effects of Covid. I wanted to post this for anyone who is downsizing their plans, or is considering that option. I know the big blowout wedding might have been the initial game plan and changing that might sting a bit at first, but smaller celebrations have their own reasons why they are so special. The smaller your guest count is, the further your budget can go. Many ...people have no frame of reference for what weddings actually cost, and once they start planning they get shocked by how quickly things can add up. When you are purchasing ANYTHING for 200+ people, it gets pricey pretty quick. When you have a smaller guest count, all of the expenses are so much more manageable. You can really get the top quality items, push the boundaries a bit, and have more wiggle room for fun customization. My own wedding was 25 guests. Our main priority was food. We wanted a meal that everyone would be talking about for years to come. We had EVERYTHING we wanted, with wine pairings with every course. The meal felt like it was a fine dining restaurant, everyone was in heaven. This would have not have been manageable for us to accomplish and afford if we had a very large wedding. This was only feasible because of our guest count. With a smaller guest list you can truly enjoy everyone's presence there. It feels so special, warm, and it honestly feels like an honor to be one of the select few that you've chosen to invite. If you do downsize your plans, put some extra oomph into the things that mean most to you! Up your floral design, splurge for the fancy plates and glasses, get some fine wine to pair with dinner, add an extra course with your caterer, get some extra desserts to be plated for your guests so everyone gets a nice array of options. If you end up getting some space in your budget by downsizing and you had initially made some concessions on things because of budget, work them back in! Get excited, make it your own, this doesn't have to feel like the understudy to your initial wedding plans. Reclaim it and realize it will be so incredible and full of love! See more

Happy Friday! We are supposed to have some beautiful weather in San Diego this weekend. I plan to spend as much time on my rooftop as possible! Reading, grilling, listening to music. What's your plan for the weekend?
