#TestimonialTuesday 11 years ago, I was referred to Dr. Koslowski. I felt an instant trust when I met him. I had a multitude of issues. After his evaluation, Dr. Koslowski knew exactly what needed to be done. He laid out a plan and began to perform his miracle. He worked hard to save as many of my teeth as he could. He anticipated what could happen in the future and built it into his plan. Dr. Koslowski is an extraordinarily talented and caring person. To this day, he his helping me keep my teeth as healthy as possible. I cannot express my gratefulness enough for his dedication. #TestimonialTuesday When my long time dentist retired several years back, I asked if he could recommend a new dentist to me, since I still needed dental work. He suggested I see his own dentist, Dr. Ronald Koslowski. I made an appointment, and for the last 4 years, I have come to Dr. Koslowski for all my dental care. I can honestly say that the crowns and fillings made by Dr. Koslowski appear completely natural and I couldn’t be happier with the cosmetic result. The dental o...ffice is quiet/peaceful and I always feel relaxed when I’m there. The staff is very friendly and efficient, and makes sure that I have a pleasant visit. I am so happy to have come to Dr. Koslowski and recommend his services to anyone who seeks quality dental care and exceptional cosmetic results. - Palle Christensen If you have any missing or broken teeth and would like them replaced or repaired, please give our office a call at 818-986-9036.

Anyone who wears a denture can tell you that a little extra support is always helpful! For these patients, a prosthodontist may recommend placing a few implants on the bottom jaw or on the top jaw to help to stabilize a full denture prosthesis and RESTORE the stability that occurs with natural teeth. A well-made denture can be beautifully crafted to RENEW a patient's smile. #NPAW2021 #prosthodontics If we can be of help to you in replacing or repairing your missing or broken teeth, please give us a call at 818-986-9036.

For patients who are missing all of the teeth in one arch, or have a poor prognosis for the remaining teeth, a prosthodontist may recommend a full-arch restoration on implants as a treatment option. As few as 4 implants can be inserted into the jaw to REPLACE some of the missing tooth roots and a bridge can be attached to the implants to RESTORE the missing teeth. This treatment option can RENEW a patient's smile sometimes as quickly as one visit! #NPAW2021 #prosthodontics If we can be of help to you in replacing or repairing your missing or broken teeth, please give us a call at 818-986-9036.

On trip to Atlanta not too long ago, I had a conversation with someone who asked me, "With all the specialty dentists around Los Angeles, what makes you different?" Believe it or not, that was an easy question to answer. Not only am I a Prosthodontist, but From 1994 to 1995, I was the American Cancer Society Fellow in Maxillofacial Prosthetics at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. I am one of ONLY two trained in Dental Oncology in the San Fernando Valley.... What is Dental Oncology? Dental Oncology is an area of dentistry focusing on the dental and oral manifestations of chemotherapy, radiation therapy and/or head and neck surgery. The discipline deals with evaluating patients before they undergo stem cell and bone marrow transplants, receive anti-resorptive medications or chemotherapy, and undergo radiation treatment. Additionally, dental oncologists provide periodic care during and after cancer therapy. Dental oncologists not only provide general dental treatment, including restorative dentistry, but they also treat and manage the dental and oral side effects and sequela of cancer therapy such as mouth sores, thrush, and dry mouth. Furthermore, I (as a dental oncologist) am trained and knowledgeable in the developmental side effects of cancer therapy and are equipped to uniquely treat pediatric patients with a history of cancer. If you, or someone you know and love, has suffered from the effects of Cancer, please give our office a call for a special consultation today at 818-986-9036.

IT'S ALMOST HALLOWEEN! With the convergence of a full moon, a blue moon, daylight saving time and Saturday celebrations plus the unprecedented events of this year Halloween 2020 will truly be one to remember. Much has changed but our love for the fun, fright, and delight of Halloween is strong as ever. So let’s unleash our Halloween inspiration to celebrate the season in safe, fun, unexpected ways! While the coronavirus pandemic may cause your family to adjust their H...alloween traditions, parents of hospitalized kids are often familiar with the challenge of changing plans during difficult times. Every year, seriously ill kids miss out on experiences because of their illnesses. Even though they may not get to participate in traditional ways, hospitals have figured out ways to bring the Halloween excitement to hospitalized kids. If hospitals can get creative to make sure sick kids still get to celebrate, then we, at home, can too! It may look a little different than past years, but here are a few fun ways to have a safe and spook-tacular Halloween in 2020! Watch Your Favorite Halloween Movies Whether your kids love scary movies or prefer more lighthearted ones, watching Halloween movies is a great way to get into the spirit! Make Your Own Halloween Decorations Ghosts and bats and pumpkins, oh my! Grab some constructive paper, orange lights, and fake spider webs and start getting crafty. Host a Virtual Costume Party Are your kids extra excited about their Halloween costume? Set up a virtual costume party with their friends so they can show off their costume and enjoy being a kid! Make Halloween-Inspired Treats From caramel apples to monster cookies and cake pop eyeballs, there are so many fun and yummy treats to make! Carve or Decorate Pumpkins A Halloween tradition that you can easily do at home! Plus, you can also turn the pumpkin seeds into a delicious snack. Organize a Drive-By Trick-or-Treat in Your Neighborhood Call your neighbors and friends to organize drive-by trick-or-treating. Every family can decorate their car, kids can dress up (incorporating their masks into their costume), and they can safely get treats from neighbors while in the car. Despite things being different this year, I hope you and your family have a fun Halloween. And, if we can be of any help in restoring your smile or in improving your oral health, give us a call to schedule your appointment today at 818-986-9036. Have a spook-tacular day! Warmly, "Dr. K."

Questions for Dr. K: "Can you tell me more about Oral Cancer? Am I at risk?" About two-thirds of oral cancer in the mouth or oral cavity occurs in the floor of the mouth and tongue, but can occur in the upper or lower jaw, lips, gums, and cheek lining. Just behind the mouth is an area known as the orophyarnx. Oropharyngeal cancer (one-third of cases) occurs in the back of the tongue, tonsils, and throat tissue. Oral cancer kills one American every hour of every day, accordin...g to the National Cancer Institute. Early detection offers the best chance of survival, yet only one-third of oral cancer is found in the earliest stages when treatment is most effective. Oral Cancer Causes & Risk Factors: Who are most at risk? * Smokers: People who use tobacco are six times more likely to develop oral cancer. Eight of 10 oral cancer patients are smokers. * Heavy alcohol drinkers: 80 percent of people diagnosed with oral cancer consume more than 21 drinks weekly. * HPV infected: People with history of oral human papilloma virus infections are at greater risk to develop oral cancer even if they don’t smoke or drink. Oral Cancer Symptoms & Warning Signs: What are the warning signs? * Red or white mouth patches in or behind the mouth * Mouth sores or ulcers that bleed easily and do not heal * Unexplained lump in the neck, throat, or floor of the mouth * Difficulty or discomfort chewing or swallowing * Pain and tenderness in teeth or gums * Change in the fit of dentures or partial dentures * Visible change in mouth tissue * Unpleasant sensations (pain, discomfort, numbness) * Diminished ability to perform normal functions such as opening jaw, chewing, or swallowing * Unexplained swelling or fullness in the neck For more information and for treatment options, please give our office a call at 818-986-9036.

Today is "Smart is Cool" Day. :) If there’s ever a time to show off your IQ test results, Smart is Cool Day is probably it. Though it’s not clear where the tradition started, the egg-headed individual’s idea was absolutely brilliant. Schools typically put together shows for their pupils and students and invite both street-smart youngsters and successful degree holders to speak to them about the importance of staying in school. But there’s really no need for that, because all ...it takes to see smart people are cool is to Google Mayim Bialik, Zach Braff or Matthew McConaughey and to check out their background. To celebrate Smart is Cool Day, put on your vintage T-shirt and your corduroys and check out Sheldon Cooper’s latest adventures. Then test your wits at the IQTest.com and tell all your friends that you decided to become a doctor. Then download the Mensa app and enroll to become a Mensa member. Don’t forget to wear a cap saying ‘I make smart cool’ and to post your selfie for all to see, because it’s always nice to share your gifts with your friends, intellectual or otherwise. Patients ask me all the time, "Where do you find these unique and funny holidays?" Normally, I would keep that my little secret. :) But, since it's "Smart is Cool" Day, I'll share the site: www.BrownieLocks.com If you have any missing or broken teeth and would like improve or restore your beautiful smile, give us a call to schedule an appointment. 818-986-9036.

[FAQ] "Who is an ideal candidate for dental implants?" Dental implants are usable in just about anyone who is missing one or more teeth. We can use implants like they’re artificial tooth roots to replace one missing tooth and make it look as natural as possible, as if there were never a tooth missing. And, if a lot of teeth are missing, we can use them to make bridges to... make teeth that don't have to be taken out. For denture wearers, we can make them into a type of denture that never has to be removed. If you have any questions about whether or not you are an ideal candiate for dental implants or any other restorative solution for your missing or broken teeth, please give us a call at 818-986-9036

According to the American Dental Association (ADA), interdental cleaners such as floss are an essential part of taking care of your teeth and gums. Cleaning between teeth removes plaque that can lead to cavities or gum disease from the areas where a toothbrush can't reach. If you have any broken or missing teeth and would like them repaired or replaced, please give our office a call at 818-986-9036.
