Everybody give a warm welcome to DJ Ziba Z! Her show Channel Z makes its debut on KLBP tonight at 6pm! Channel Z is an hour of eclectic music (mainly indie) non-mainstream tunes which you won’t be hearing on commercial radio! DJ Ziba Z started on the radio at KUCI 88.9 FM in Irvine her freshman year of college, just out of Long Beach Poly High. Ziba stayed on the airwaves for thirteen years, returning to Long Beach in 2015 to work at the public library. Ziba was eager to bring music to the community and helped curate a library program called Music at Main. This monthly event featured local music acts performing live at the public library and a recorded interview with the artists later to be aired on Long Beach public access television. These days you may find Ziba working in Los Angeles, #ZibaZLibrarian by day, #DJZibaZ by night.

"I started out at the station as a show producer. Soon after my show got accepted, I was in an accident and suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury. At every level of my recovery, KLBP met me where I was at. It provided a lifelinea reason to keep trying. I found a purpose, something bigger than myself, and it gave me the determination I desperately needed to adapt, a reason to fight through the trauma. It’s been two years since my initial involvement with KLBP and I’m now the Program Director. I love this station with every part of my being." - Rose Lozon, KLBP's Programming Director on what the station means to her. Support our work at bit.ly/3bR7nVd
