The new shade structure at Lincoln School is finally complete! Students were able to play under it for the first time yesterday. This project was made possible by a grant from the Kingsburg Tri-County Health Care District. A recognition plaque was presented to the Board this week.

Attached is information about a utility assistance program that is available through the County there remains a lot of funding available due to lack of applic...ations (only 8 from Kingsburg). The program will provide up to $600 in direct payments for qualifying households (this could be used for PG&E, SoCal Gas, City water/refuse, etc.). The program is now first come first serve. February 4, 2021 Kingsburg Elementary Families, In the news recently, you may have seen that the Fresno County Department of Public Health (FCDPH) gave approval on February 3, 2021, for those school districts that were implementing a phased re-opening to continue to allow students on campus for instruction. This news does not change what we are doing in Kingsburg, as students are already receiving on-campus instruction. We will continue to do all that we can to have student...s back in the classroom as much as possible, and we will keep families updated on any new information we receive. I also wanted to give you an update on our county COVID-19 numbers and our efforts to secure COVID-19 vaccines for our employees. This information is based on our meeting with the Fresno County Department of Public Health (FCDPH) on 2/3/2021. First, the Fresno County case rate per 100,000 has consistently fallen over the past two weeks, and the data for next Tuesday's official report will continue to show this trend. That is outstanding news! Second, the FCDPH updated its timeline for providing the COVID-19 vaccine to educators. Given the shortage of the vaccine, and the inclusion of those 65+ in Tier 1b, they are now projecting that the COVID-19 vaccine will be available for educators in April. The following link contains the updated FCDPH vaccine schedule and identifies the tier placement of educators (Vaccine Schedule Link- https://files.constantcontact.com//a368411f-4825-477f-93d6). This is disappointing and has changed significantly from what we were told three weeks prior. Although the FCDPH has indicated educators would now be in line to receive the vaccine in April, we are continuing to work with our health care partners and the FCDPH to try to speed up the timeline so they understand that we have staff and students on campus for in-person learning, and are ready to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to our employees if they choose to be vaccinated. Again, thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to stay healthy while supporting your child’s educational needs. As an organization, we have been able to safely support all of our staff and students and become a model of safety for other districts in the valley. Sincerely, Wesley Sever Ed.D. Superintendent More information about KECSD’s expansive health and safety plans is available online at: KECSD COVID-19 Safety Plan (CSP) https://www.kesd.org//Kingsburg%20Elementary%20Charter%20S CDPH School Guidance https://www.cdph.ca.gov//COVID-19/Consolidated_Schools_Gui
