When we asked Bellflower Unified School District case managers how we could bless BUSD families at this time, they shared that students are in need of new or very gently used back to school clothes and supplies. In response, KCB is partnering with local churches to host a Back to School Shopping Experience for our local students this summer! Please consider supporting these students by donating new or gently used clothing for students K-12 that we can provide at our pop-up free clothing store. Rosewood Church is inviting the community to a 12-hour day of prayer and fasting on March 11, 2021, one year after the WHO declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. In their invitation, the church asks for those who are able to abstain from solid food to do so from 6am to 6pm and to take time to offer prayers for those whose lives have been transformed by the traumatic and devastating events of this past year. During this time of fasting, Pastor John Medendorp will be hosting a ...prayer vigil in the Rosewood sanctuary. Every hour on the hour, there will be a series of readings and prayers, followed by an extended time of silent prayer. If you need a space to lift up before God loved ones who have died or fallen ill, friends or family who have lost their jobs, or your own suffering over this past year, the church welcomes you to join them for as long or as brief a time as you are able to manage. The first reading will begin at 6am, and the final reading will be at 5pm. The doors of the church will be closed at 6pm after a time of silent prayer. Please remember to stay hydrated when you fast from solid foodswater, juice, and broth are all good options to help sustain you through the day.

Happy #InternationalWomensDay! As we celebrate the women in our lives, we'd like to acknowledge the incredible ladies KCB has had the opportunity to work alongside in the mission to care for those in need. Besides supporting their own families, these women have sacrificed their personal time and occasionally their own financial expenses to support our community. It has been a treat to also see some of them serve alongside their daughters. From packing hygiene kits to making s...ack lunches to facilitating housing support group meetings to volunteering at Saturday Morning Breakfast and Showers, these women continue to wholeheartedly serve others, and we are beyond grateful for them. We'd also like to thank the female staff at KCB as well as those at partner churches and organizations that work hard to support the community through programs and events. Your compassion for others inspires us all!
