And here we go again. These are our countrymen. Born in our country. Our American men. Our brothers. Shot down in our streets. Over and over again. For being black in our country. In their own country. Being American these days implies we have desensitized ourselves on so many levels. I get it - it’s v hard to function if we let all the BS get to us every single day. We have to be selective with what we let affect us. ... But my Facebook family - we need to let our hearts break and stay broken. Jacob Blake was shot in front of his children. In front of his children. For being black. In one instant, his children lost their innocence. They will grow up with PTSD from this one day, in a system that is designed to keep them down, keep them quiet. These are our American kids, who will live with the knowledge that their Dad was shot in the back, by the very men who’re entrusted to keep them and us all safe.
