Well, we hung up our hats for one day and let me tell you, it was a difficult day. The restlessness of not making coffee for our friends even hit my staff. As I walked into the shop this morning part of the staff was already in there making coffee for themselves and coffee for friends and that there makes me happy. To see the staff utilizing the shop on a day off honestly makes this place just that much more sweet. We moved through 2020 together and all of you taught us so mu...ch. So much that the best of the year could not be described by a series of photos. Im sure I can speak for the company when i say that there were many moment through the year for laughs, tears and sweat that showed our grit. Our ability to come together to make it through our day is amazing to me and when I say our I mean every last one of you. Our little community has made a lot of changes mentally and physically and together we have been able to move forward through this crazy time. Adapting to the change is a big task but to smile while going through it is perseverance in itself and for that I tip my hat to everyone of you. 2020 showed us what it’s got and it definitely made our heads spin but let’s roll up our sleeves, come together and show 2021 what WE can do because everything is always better when we do it together. Just remember that we are and will always be more than just a place to get coffee. We are here to be apart of the better change that is coming to @downtownslo . Having a core staff that are locals is what helps drive this company, sourcing things locally is what makes us work harder. Seeing our local vendors/friends work hard pushes us everyday. Another beautiful day with more restrictions. We feel it y’all and it’s a sad thing to go backwards but it’s something we must follow through with. We are here for you per usual and still serving normal hours. We obviously wish we could do all the neat things we want to do and we’re hoping to do and now we are thinking on how to be able to make things a little easier so stay tuned for more product launches and merchandise options. Plants.. they aren’t just beautiful but they are a lifestyle as well. @divineplantdesign has been doing our plants since the beginning and since our core staff works so much it’s super important to have a environment that is not only mentally healthy but physically as well. Experiencing nature can lower blood pressure and improve your mental health. Buildings have air contaminants that can make you sick. Houseplants are one way to improve air quality at work and home. Since we are a company that believes strongly on all the things that make you beautiful (healthy) inside and out it’s a win win for all of you. My employees are what I strive for. Being able to keep everyone of my employees is my number one concern at this point and keeping the cafe as busy as possible is what will help. We too want and wish to be able to go back to normal in whatever context that means however, we need to move forward as always and that’s what we do here at KIN. We move forward with y’all and never skip a beat doing it. Since the beginning we held on being one of the very small amount of coffee shops open. We survived through good community and the ability to get second jobs. We were able to support other shops with the help of all of you so remember that you help us eat breakfast, lunch and dinner and we always choose local. Keep it coming familia. The goodness in life comes from people who put love and effort into life. We are firm believers of producing goodness for our community. No matter what we are here for you.

When you support small businesses the possibilities locally are endless. We’ve been here a little over a year and every week we do good we are able to add something to the shop. A plant, art or get to put money back into the community. We are true born and raised locals who care about where the money goes in this town, what kind of conversation to have and the way to produce goodness to one another. It was a lot to get this shop going and over the year we’ve almost closed several times and with the help of all of you we have been able to keep the jobs flowing, the coffee brewing and keep the space to create art and love.
