In Loving Memories of KFMC President Number 2 Vandy Khuon. Today, KFMC Board of Directors, President Terry Ngin, and former President #3 Bryant Ben, came to bid farewell to our beloved former President # 2, Mr. Vandy Khuon. A quiet and soft-spoken gentleman, President Vandy Khuon was determined to make The Killing Fields Memorial Center and its mission a success story. And he did. During his three year tenure as KFMC President, Mr. Vandy Khuon accomplished many tasks that h...ave propelled KFMC to where we are today: a Memorial Garden to take shape in Long Beach very soon that will be dedicated to the memories of the Killing Fields victims of Cambodia. - 2010: Proclamation by the City of Long Beach, recognizing the victims of the Killing Fields, -2010: Start of negotiation to get a permanent place for the Memorial Garden, -2012: Long Beach City Resolution recognizing April as Genocide Awareness Month for the people of the world, and 2012: City of Long Beach designated the Memorial Garden location as a park zone, preventing any business ventures to take over the place for commercial zone. President Vandy Khuon was also a former lieutenant-commander in the Khmer Republic Navy. He was a fearless leader, and a hero to Cambodians, and many who had served with him in the five year Khmer Republic War. Rest in Peace, Mr. President! See more
