As the kiddos learn all about superheroes this month, we had a great (social distance) visit from some REAL LIFE SUPERHEROES! A huge thank you to @orangecountyfireauthority, and everyone at Station 43 for taking the time to make this such a great, educational, and memorable experience for all the kiddos!

The kiddos are really going to flip for all the super fun crafts and activities we've assembled for this month's theme: Let's Be Superheroes!

Nothing is more summer-y than a nice big glass of ice cold lemonade! Well, our kiddos had so much fun exploring a REALLY big glass with our lemonade sensory bin! Ok ok, it wasn't really lemonade (imagine the stickiness ), it was water with yellow food coloring. But with the real lemons and all the lemon related objects and tools to explore and experience, it really was a treat for all the senses! @ Kid's Haven Preschool

We Trash Truck Tuesdays!! The kids never miss an opportunity to see the big trash truck in action, and the trash collector loves getting to wave and say hi to all the kiddos!

Oh how I love bright yellow sunflower crafts! Super fun and summery! Especially when we can incorporate real sunflower seeds!

My weekend project. I've seen people that have given their Little Tikes cars and playhouses a nice new makeover, and ours was definitely overdue for some much needed TLC. For those interested, I used Krylon Fusion All-in-One spray paint, it works GREAT on plastic. And if you're going to do it, do yourself a favor and get one of those comfort grip triggers. A HUGE finger saver!... I'm so happy with the results, and I think the kiddos will be presently surprised come tomorrow! #ilovepurple

Happy Father's Day to all the amazing dads out there! This year the kiddos got hands-on (literally) with a really simple (but SUPER cute) Father's Day craft!! It just takes some cut out heart and letters and spray adhesive (or letter and shape stickers), washable paint, and some tiny little adorable hands. Alternatively, instead of handprints you can also use thumbprints, dot markers, paintbrushes, or sponges. Happy Father's Day, everyone!! @ Kid's Haven Preschool

Continuing our weekly color brown, the kids had fun getting dirty in our digging for worms sensory bin! Although I'm sure they all would have rather been digging for REAL worms, I think spaghetti was an acceptable substitute. Adding in some digging tools, tweezers, scoopers, and jars helped the kids work on their fine motor and transferring skill, and coordination. It was super easy to set up, it was exciting, it was messy, and the kiddos had a great time! Just make sure to check with your local garden center for the best organic, chemical free soil to use with young children.

Night time fall tree craft! It was really quick and easy, and the kiddos had a really fun time (getting messy)! Just a piece of paper with some tape in the shape of a tree, a little paint, and some sponge stipplers.
