I am happy to report that our stolen Emergency Broadcast Unit has returned. I just looked inside to find all our broadcast equipment is still securely mounted, the folding tables and mic stands, the CB and Shortwave units are still mounted in place as well. A listener in Siskiyou County emailed KIDE that the unit was parked outside their locked gate where someone left it and drove off. Tribal Insurance arranged to have it hauled back.
Yesterday the Chairman's COVID-19 Report had guests from the CDC. Today the Incident Command gave updates on the fires, on the local mass testing and near future plans. Overall, how valuable are the broadcasts of the daily COVID-19 reports to you?
It was reported to us this morning by Kimaw Medical Center that the KIDE Emergency Broadcast Unit that was being used behind the Center as an optional COVID screening room was stolen. It was last seen being pulled by a tan SUV down Hwy 96 past the mini mart. If you have seen our transmitter radio equipped Emergency Broadcast Unit please call Hoopa Tribal Police. This unit while owned by KIDE belongs to the Hoopa Valley Community. It has our Logo on the sides and front.
