Clients come to us because they want to get rid of their tub and covert their tub-shower into a walk in shower. This project was for an elderly widowed woman who neeed a shower that was more useful for her. She no longer wanted her tub since it was getting harder for her to get into. We removed the tub and moved the drain to the middle for a better slope and drainage of the water. We also added a bench for her to sit as she showers. I recommend a hand held sprayer, this way... she can sit on her bench and not have to stand up as she showers. I also recorded 2 grab bars. One closest to the entry and another along the lagest wall for better grab and stability for her. The shampoo niche was an extra added storage space for her. This bathroom had carpet! Yes, carpet Since she was on a tight budget she wanted to keep it. That’s a big oh no for me But with her senior discount we offered her, we were able to replace the carpet and remove the tiles and replace it with all once consistent tile in the toilet room too! As she was getting ready for a trip getaway with her girlfriends she was happy to leave knowing her shower was done on time for her trip!
