Why The How To’s Don’t Work! It seems like everywhere we turn, there is a new How To book or manual promising quick and easy results. How to lose weight. How to stay fit.... How to succeed. You get the point! Chances are we already know the answer to all these questions, and if you don’t, a simple Google search will most likely provide you with the answer. What we should be asking is ourselves is the tough question of What. In particular, What is getting the way of making the desired change? What is getting in the way of you making the changes to lose that extra weight you want? What is getting in the way of you taking action to become more physically active? What is getting the way of you taking the necessary steps to go after your dreams and reach your goals? It is in these questions that we have to dig deep and really look at the reasons why we repeat patterns or find it hard to change. Once we discover the answer to these often difficult and truthful questions, then we are able to move towards the life we want to live and become the person we want to be.
Spring is here and it is the season of love and new beginnings! No better time to read Brene' Brown's, The Gifts of Imperfection. Great definition of the importance and meaning of love! LOVE: "We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable and powerful selves to be deeply seen and known, and when we honor the spiritual connection that grows from that offering with trust, respect, kindness, and affection.... Love is not something we give or get; it is something that we nurture and grow, a connection that can only be cultivated between two people when it exists within each one of them-we can only love others as much as we love ourselves."
