Not a recessed can light in sight, and yet there are plenty of light sources to make this room function. The more you know. #kevinisbellinteriors @readmckendree styled by @francesfinds

Abstract beach house. Lots of textures with a dash of abstract patterns. #kevinisbellinteriors @readmckendree styled by @francesfinds

Who’s ready for outdoor dining? Living in Los Angeles has spoiled me on nearly year round outdoor dining weather. So I guess I’m looking forward to heat-lamp-less dining. #kevinisbellinteriors @julialynnphotography

Making an entrance is easy in this Gramercy Park duplex. The graceful return on the stair was an engineering feat, but in the end it was all worth it. #kevinisbellinteriors @murdocksolonarchitects @highlineconstructiongroup @jmkphotog

It’s not easy being green. But this breakfast room is certainly easy on the eyes. #kevinisbellinteriors @_david_land Styled by @lizstrongstyle

Based on my Reel from yesterday you’d think I hate stone in bathrooms. Nothing could be further from the truth, but I do object to EVERY surface being covered in it. In this gentleman’s bath I complimented the expanse of marble with painted wood paneling. It’s add some warmth to the space and breaks the monotony of a room entirely clad in one material. The more you know. #kevinisbellinteriors @mitchell_studio #nordiccustombuilders

It’s a rare rainy day in Los Angeles and I’m feeling lethargic. I could hang out here all day and wait for the storm to pass. #kevinisbellinteriors

A special thanks to @housebeautiful and @hadleykeller for featuring our new home in Los Angeles. Read how a pair of shutters inspired a cross county move and a brand new life. (Link to story in bio). And follow along on my stories to see more. #kevinisbellinteriors @readmckendree styled by @lizstrongstyle

Every room needs the warmth of wood. And maybe some texture. Oh, and pattern too. Don’t forget the pattern. #kevinisbellinteriors @allenunruh styled by @francesfinds

My various Gemini mood swings summed up in one GIF. At least the fabulous @graciestudio paper is consistent. #kevinisbellinteriors @annieschlechter

Am I late to the party?!? Is Wallpaper Wednesday a thing? Well any way, here’s an attic play room that I covered the walls, eaves and ceiling in @hinson_by_donghia Spatter wallpaper. It’s a fun and whimsical way trick the eye to make all the angles disappear. The more you know. #kevinisbellinteriors @allenunruh styled by @francesfinds

If you caught my Reel from yesterday, you may think that I am anti-shiplap. Nothing could be further from the truth. BUT what I DO object to is it’s assumed suitability to EVERY situation. It’s the same reason why I would never fill this un -winterized fisherman’s cottage with stainless steel and glass furnishings. It’s not suitable to the architecture. The same can be said about shiplap in a modern home. It is not what the architecture, nor the location, call for. Now if you can’t get enough shiplap, and you want to clad it everywhere, then you should do what makes you happy. As should we all. #kevinisbellinteriors @freemanstudio for @housebeautiful

It’s like the United Nations in this room. Italian chair, Thai candlestick as a lamp, and an English chest. Kinda sounds like the set up for a joke. #kevinisbellinteriors @mitchell_studio @peter_margonelli for @archdigest

Today calls for something optimistic and bright. Make sure to check out my Reels tomorrow where I will discuss my approach to color in an interior. #kevinisbellinteriors @julialynnphotography for @charlestonmag

If you saw my Reel from yesterday, you know of my disdain for inoperable exterior shutters. This image, by the architect @gpschafer demonstrates the proper use of a shutter. Aside from protecting you from inclement weather, as I mentioned yesterday, they also provide visual depth to an exterior. They cast shadows against the house which makes the entire facade more lively and inviting. It’s a subtle change, but one that makes a world of difference. #kevinreelness

One of the most fabulous hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying is the @aman_venice. The mix of centuries old architecture with contemporary furniture is inspired. And let’s be honest, no piece of furniture could ever outshine a palazzo of this magnitude. #inspiration
