As a reminder to all of our loyal clientele, we will not have a doctor on staff the week of June 29th - July 3rd. ALSO, if you are running low on your pet's medications, please make sure and order a refill before Wednesday. We will be here all day Wednesday for you to pick up the medication(s). A message about Covid-19 from Dr. Boyer: Dear Friends and Family, I want to encourage all of you, during this time of pandemic, to not be afraid. We are currently staying open to help you with your pets' injuries and illnesses. We are implementing some major changes to keep you and our staff safe: ... 1) We are offering phone consultations. 2) We are keeping extreme social distancing - we are not allowing customers in the clinic, we ask that you call us to check in and wait in your vehicle, we will come get your pet from you and take the pet in for the appointment. 3) We are all wearing masks. 4) We are using extreme hygiene measures on both our persons and in our hospital. 5) We are not seeing healthy patients at this time nor are we doing any elective surgeries (Please understand this is not our rules, this is per the American Veterinary Medical Association) The only exception to the healthy pet policy is puppies that are in their 1st - 3 vaccine series. Please be patient and kind, we understand these restrictions are VERY frustrating. I am praying for you daily and encourage you to seek comfort and peace in God's Word. All of the Psalms are so comforting, I particularly love Psalm 91 and will read it out loud inserting my name or a loved one's name for "you". Should you need any special words of comfort or peace, don't hesitate to call. It is with great sadness that Kernville Animal Hospital announces the death of their cat Jude Floppy Paw. Jude came to us years ago and has been a faithful friend and employee. He had such compassion for sick animals and especially loved dogs. He would comfort them, lay close and rub on them to encourage them to feel comfortable in a scary situation. One time, we had an extremely ill dog named Buddy who was hospitalized for days; Jude never left his side except to use the lit...ter box, refusing to eat or drink until Buddy showed signs of recovery. To this day we credit Buddy's recovery to Jude giving him a will to live. Jude battled I.B.D. (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) for the last three years but finally succumbed to an inoperable diaphramatic hernia that he sustained from a dog attack. We love you Jude and will never forget you!
