Gino Manzares is looking forward to leading the Perris Pirates into action this Saturday at Kern County Raceway. It marks the first time the Pirates have raced ...on the road with the team league series based at their home Perris venue. Manzares’s said, I’m really looking forward to the upcoming team race at Bakersfield this Saturday night. My racing has been going well and the first time for me racing at KCRP wasn’t too bad considering I was riding despite a heavy migraine on the night. The team traveling up to Bakersfield are coming home with a WIN. We haven’t had much luck on our side the last couple meetings but I’m sure we can dig deep and win away. Racing is this Saturday night at Kern County Raceway with a 7pm start. A full program of Speedway in all divisions will feature with the team event being the highlight. Full team line ups should be announced tomorrow Thursday.

Lifelong dream to be a Bakersfield Bandit comes true! Brad Sauer out of Bakersfield is now in his third decade of racing speedway motorcycles. He first went to ...see speedway in 1971 in Bakersfield as a three year old and when he was 8, the Bakersfield Bandits won the National Speedway League during a one off season of European style team racing in America. This Saturday night Sauer, along with brother Robbie, will bring the team home as the Bakersfield Bandits are reformed to race against the Perris Pirates at Kern County Raceway. It’s been a life long dream for me and Robbie to race for the Bandits and now its happening, says Brad. We’ve been going to speedway races since about 1971 because my dad helped build the track and worked it every week. It’s been great honor to help with this new track at KCRP and make this happen. We are making it a great show for the long time fans and new fans to come. We have always been Bakersfield Bandits in our heads but it’s awesome to actually put on the team vest and bring the Bandits back. I wish my dad was here to see it. Sauer has been a huge part of the revival of speedway in Bakersfield, volunteering long hours as part of the track preparation team. His knowledge as well as the experienced KCRP track crew has created a race track that is getting rave reviews from riders and fans. The race is this Saturday 24 April at Kern County Raceway Bakersfield with a 7pm start time. As well as the team race, the top eight riders on the night in points will race for individual honors. There will also be a wealth of other speedway divisions in action. Admission is $20 with kids 12 and under $10 and 5 and under free. VIP all access pit passes are available for $25. Parking in free and full food and drink concessions are available. Tickets can be purchased at the box office from 5pm on race day.

North American Speedway Champion Max Ruml is excited to lead the Bakersfield Bandits into an historic homecoming this Saturday at Kern County Raceway. The Bandi...ts were National Speedway league champions in 1976 and Saturday’s race is their first home match for 45 years. Ruml, impressed with the new speedway venue in Bakersfield, specifically requested to lead the Bandits team into their new era. It is hoped the team event this Saturday night April 24 versus the Perris Pirates will prove to be the catalyst of a full Speedway league in America with various venues involved in 2022. It is hoped that Speedway fans from both Bakersfield and Perris embrace this event and make noise for their local team! Racing starts at 7:00pm With a full program of supporting classes. OCT. 16. Beetlejuice will be the feature at our 4th installment of Stranded at the Drive-In. This is presented by T-Mobile to benefit Wounded Heroes Fund.
