The Kern County Cosmetology Apprenticeship Program is a State approved mentoring program for aspiring Cosmetologists, seasoned professionals, and salon owners who wish to improve the image , professionalism, and education of students wishing to enter the field of Cosmetology through apprenticeship. STUDENTS Apprenticeship is a viable alternative to traditional cosmetology school. Work and train one-on-one in the salon in a paid 2 year apprenticeship with a qualified, educated... hairstylist. Earn a wage, train under someone you know and respect, and build your clientele if you wish within your 2 year training period. HAIRSTYLISTS Are you or other stylists in your salon interested in having a cosmetology student learning from you and working under you in the capacity of an assistant or Jr. stylist? Are you interested in an affordable way of implementing a student/assistant/Jr. stylist? Do you or your colleagues have 3 or more years consecutive experience as a licensed cosmetologist? Do you know someone who wishes to become a cosmetologist and train under you? Do you have 19-24 months to dedicate to mentoring an apprentice?
