Awesome Activity! Last Saturday I took the Boy Scout troop to a welding merit badge class were they made metal bird houses!

Last Saturday was United Ways day of Service. My sons Scout troop performed 3 hours of community service at the Simi Valley community Garden! (We were the last ones to leave)

We found our way back! Last night our Boy Scout troop did a 5 mile orienteering hike at Wildwood park using map and compass

I just got back from a week long Boy Scout camp at 3 Falls in Frazier Park. It was hotter then heck! The Boys were super productive and earned 35 merit badges between 6 boys!!! They also earned their Totin chip award (see axe photo) The boys also did all the aquatics requirements for their Second class and First class rank achievements. The Citizenship in the World merit badge class was like a high school or college class, I took 6 pages of notes (I now know the difference be...tween international law vs. National law, don't know if I could have passed the test at the end of the week though!) I must admit, as the Scout Leader I was NOT looking forward to going but I ended up having a great time and was sad when it ended. See more

I had my sons Boy Scout troop build and slept in their own wilderness survival shelters on Friday evening and good news...they survived! (I am proud of them they did a great job) The branches that were used came from the tree we cut down for our service project earlier in the month

Last night my sons Boy Scout troop performed service work of chopping down a tree for a woman going thru some hard times. The boys and adults did a great job.

I helped teach my sons Cub Scout troop how to use power tools. The good news is we did not have to teach first-aid or how to call 911! (There was a couple of close calls) We built flag poles for a fund raising project to send the boys to Cub Scout day cap in the summer.

I am the Den leader of my sons Cub Scout troop. For a service project I had the boys make a food collection box and then go through their neighborhood and collect food donations. I also had the box that I made on the counter at the shop. Thank you for the food that was brought in for our food share donation! (We collected enough food that it filled up the bed of a truckGood Work!!!)
