The Michael Leonardi Foundation has dedicated itself to raising awareness of fentanyl and its harmful use among our children and loved ones. A young man with the rest of his life ahead of him, Michael was enjoying his first year of college in San Diego. Living with friends near the beach, he loved playing his guitar and making music and adored sharing the experience with his sister who attended the same school and lived nearby. On February 24, 2020 his life was tragically l...ost. Michael passed away in the early morning hours from fentanyl poisoning, a powerful synthetic opioid. He was in no way aware the counterfeit Percocet he was taking was really fentanyl. Amid reports of increased fentanyl overdoses across the country, communities must be aware of the risks, and our hope is to raise awareness so that other families and friends will not experience this same tragedy. Having worked throughout his career with many of Napa’s greatest Chef’s, Marco open Pasta Prego in 1991.
