Keck Observatory Archive (KOA) 13.11.2020

KOA (https://koa.ipac.caltech.edu) is pleased to announce the second data release (DR2) from the Keck Observatory Database of Ionized Absorption toward Quasars (KODIAQ) project. This release contains spectra of 130 new QSOs, bringing the total number of KODIAQ objects to 300. The products are reduced, continuum normalized quasar spectra derived from public HIRES raw data served through KOA. Intermediate data extraction products for the DR2 data will be available in Fall 2017. Users may download gzipped tar files of the data and the intermediate data products (currently only available for DR1 data), or perform positional searches to discover, visualize, and download the data sets.

KOA has released browse-quality spectra extracted with a new, automated pipeline from 1,821 nights of NIRSPEC high-dispersion data. The data products (http://koa.ipac.caltech.edu//NIRSPEC/extracted_spectra.html) include flux and noise spectra and spatial profiles for each order and wavelength calibration line identification tables in ASCII and FITS formats, a total of over 4,400,000 files altogether; see the sample products below. The pipeline is written in Python, is freel...y available at https://tinyurl.com/nsdrp-code and documented at https://tinyurl.com/koa-nsdrp. A quick-look reduction mode is available to observers at the telescope. The Keck Observatory Archive (KOA) has released a program-friendly interface to public images acquired with all Keck instruments equipped with an imaging mode. The interface is compliant with the IVOA draft standard Simple Image Access Protocol v2 (June 30, 2015) (lhttp://www.ivoa.net/documents/SIA/20150610/index.html) . The interface is fully documented at https://koa.ipac.caltech.edu/UserGui/program_interface.html, and includes a detailed description of the input and output parameters, examples for each of the Keck Observatory instruments, a troubleshooting guide and a web-based query builder that allows users to create queries that are later run from a program.

KOA is please to announce the first public release of raw (level 0) Near InfraRed Camera (NIRC) data, acquired between 1995 and 2010. The release contains ~190,000 science and calibration files (~259 GB) from 964 nights covering this entire time span. https://koa.ipac.caltech.edu/cgi-bin/KOA/nph-KOAlogin
