What’s an owl’s favorite band? The Hoo. Now that we have that out of the way, our manager was walking around property this morning and looked up to catch a glimpse of this big bird quietly watching from his perch in a pine tree. ‘Owl’ be sure to post more nature shots as we see them!
The bathrooms are done! Today we’re giving you a preview of our renovated ladies room. We’re proud of how these have turned out, and can’t wait to show you the men’s room tomorrow.
New chair rails have been installed and don’t they look fantastic??
Another step forward: we’ve moved everything out of the main building for a final deep clean, with last minute adjustments made to the building as we prepare to reopen. While we don’t have a date yet, we’re getting everything ready now to make the transition easier for our clients and employees.
I guess it just runs in the family sometimes. Recently, our Director, Beverly, picked up a little snake that was roaming the property. Since clients haven’t been onsite, some critters have taken solace in the quiet. Then, our marketing manager, Jake, was camping and wrangled a slightly larger snake from his campsite - all within a week of each other.... Don’t worry, both snakes are well and away from people now.
April is autism awareness month. Did you know that 1 in 54 children are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder? We’ll be sharing more statistics soon and details on why we do what we do at Kern County Autism Center.
What a dump! Our rollaway arrived today. We’ve had a massive amount of tumbleweeds, pine needles and more that have blown around the property from the recent storms. Time to clean up the yards!
Chris is thrilled it’s Monday again!
Closure at the start of the new year. As many know, we lost our beloved client, Randy, last year. Emily Williams, our Residential Manager, was able to work personally with @granitemandave to create and make Randy’s headstone. Today it was delivered to his final resting place.
Saturdays at park home are pretty colorful! If you could make a name for a new Crayola, what would you name it?
It was a very quiet year last year around Dai Break. Hopefully we can resume our classes with our clients soon! We miss you all so much.
Sometimes a good sunset in the country does some good. Our clients at park home are enjoying the downtime as we safely quarantine and wait out the pandemic. Stay safe and have a great weekend!
The holidays are over, 2021 is here, and we can't wait to see what this year brings!
We’ve been framed! Things are progressing a long nicely as we begin to see the new doors and stalls being installed in our restrooms.
Merry Christmas! We hope your holiday is a sweet one.
One of the last Throwback Thursday of the year, we're looking back at the one who left us this year. It's been a tough year for all, but we want to remind you of a simple message: love everyone you can when you have them. Soak up every moment possible. Here's to a healthy and safe New Year.
