Gorgeous new unit right in downtown Oakland. God-daughter approved. This property has obvious roof problems, maybe foundation issues, and the chimney might blow over with a gust of wind! Lake Merritt neighborhood, single room studio, no bathroom, approx. 10 sqft Listed at $750k but will not accept less than $2.2 million - cash offers only!

I did a poll the other day to see how people felt about classic all-white kitchens, and 42% responded that they wanted to see more colors and textures! So I did a little digging for kitchen inspo, and found a few I think really fit the bill. I personally love (LOVE) the floor tile from the second, the cabinets and marble from the first, & the light fixtures from the third. Let’s play choose your fighter kitchen edition: 1, 2, 3 or 4?

One of my favorite parts of real estate is getting to utilize and blend the skills of all my degrees - including fine arts. I originally designed these poppy cuties to send out in the spring, but I’m actually finding the message is resonating even more as we enter into the last part of the year: We do not know what soil or weather this time will bring, so I wanted to send a reminder that we have, and we will, persevere.... We will bloom where we are planted, with hearts full of gratitude for all the ways this present situation will stimulate growth Sending love to you all, and good chaos-banishing poppy juju for the rest of 2020 and beyond!

On this gorgeous Monday, it is important to reflect upon, celebrate, and honor the cultures and histories of Native people. Above is a map showing which tribal lands upon which we live as inhabitants of the San Francisco Bay Area. Here are a few ways in which you can honor Indigenous people this (and every) year: #1: Learn About Indigenous Cultures... #2: Donate to Indigenous Rights Organizations #3: Attend Vigils, Rallies, or Marches #4: Support Native Artisans #5: Don’t Just Celebrate, Disavow Columbus Day These are just a few ways we can make the necessary steps towards making amends for the treatment of Native people in this country, and I am always open to learning more about how I can directly support these communities. I would love to hear how you’re honoring this day, and please feel free to share this map! Source is native-land.ca

This is one of my favorite pictures of one of my proudest accomplishments - having just finishing hiking up the Hverfjall volcano in Iceland Do I look disabled in this picture? Not to me either... That’s one of the most insidious parts of having an invisible disability - the external AND internal gaslighting. Well you climbed a volcano!!! You can walk!!! You can’t be disabled... But the thing is - I am. And what you don’t see in this photo is the extraordinarily painful ways in which I thoroughly paid for this accomplishment afterwards. This is just one part of a long Things I’ve Done Despite My Disability list, which further includes surviving 23 years without a diagnosis, graduating undergrad on time with 2 degrees, moving to & living in 2 different countries by myself, and basic things like holding jobs, friendships, relationships, showering, eating, or just getting myself out of bed. All of which are to be celebrated, and for which I too need to give myself more credit. One of the best things that we can do right here on social media for the disabled community is to utilize CC or subtitles for our media that relies on sound to relay information! Deaf and hard of hearing citizens need to buy and sell homes as well and it is their right to have equitable access. I will likely start politely reminding people to put captions, and welcome any and all suggestions from any group of disabled people! I want to ensure that I do my best for all those with disabilities, especially invisible illnesses which are often overlooked. Being disabled is not easy by any stretch in such an ableist and neurotypically-centered society, and neither is navigating a career in real estate. I’m so proud of myself for somehow managing to do both pretty damn successfully so far, and I can’t wait to keep being a realtor that all minoritized communities can count on to fiercely represent & fight for them in all arenas. Have a wonderful weekend folks & remember: so many of us are fighting invisible battles, so be kind and stay wonderful!

I have officially become that superstitious fan who wears the same outfit for every game (thank you based god for washing machines!) Honestly my favorite part of football Sunday’s is probably still the food & time spent with friends, but any excuse to wear mostly black is automatically a win for me. Apropos to winning - I decided to play in a mini fantasy league next year so I have (hopefully) ample time to beef up my expertise to still probably get handily defeated, unfortunately. Who’s your team & what superstition do you have?

Took one look at our wilting, moldy pumpkins today and went honestly... same I think we’re all feeling squished & mentally saggy at the moment. Seasonal depression meets quarantine depression, meets 2020 as a whole, and it’s no wonder these poor pumpkins didn’t even last a week! I hope everyone is finding ways to take care of themselves in the next week, and long term over the next few months. As an agent, I’ll be hunkering down to continue laying the groundwork for a bustl...ing spring market, while taking this new winter market day by day. Traditionally things slow down during this time of year, but we’re still seeing new inventory every day, and many buyers are still very much on the hunt. As a human, I will be giving myself grace, eating the yummiest food I can find, and doing the things I love & love me back. Click through to see the before state of these sorry squash, & let me know in the comments what your favorite fall activity has been this season

This week’s #WomanCrushWednesday is the amazingly talented and compassionate Barbara Bisel! I first met Barbara while in school at Campolindo, since she was the creative genius behind many of our theater productions’ fabulous and incredibly accurate costumes. As a stylist, she knew just the right fabrics, textures, and treated everyone like a true Broadway star, which a few grads went on to become! Since (and prior to) then, she has been a staple of Lamorinda as a beaming e...xample of how to be an A+ kind of human. Most recently, she made over 1,300 face masks and prepared another 3,000 for her team of volunteers to stitch! She bought the material through the sale of masks, generating $5,000 in proceeds which she then donated to St. Stephen’s Food for Families program for Monument Crisis Center. I can’t think of any better representation of beauty than someone who is unafraid to be herself, and that is 100% Barbara. So, happy #WCW to you all, and next time you wonder what you can do to help your local community, just ask yourself What Would Barbara Do?

New Event Alert I’m so excited to be part of this new aspect of Lamorinda Idol! For those who don’t know, I am actually the forever record-holding winner of this competition. I participated from 6th-12th grade, back when it was still called Orinda Idol. It was a huge outlet for me, as I naturally gravitated more towards popular music and performance, rather than musical theater or choir (both of which I still did as well). I’ve mentored participants, some of which have n...ow gone on to be professional performers, and still have amazing relationships throughout the community because of Idol. (Though truthfully I am a little thankful I no longer have to walk in the heat of the 4th of July parade while attempting to sing) I’ve been an audition judge for the last 2 years, and now have joined as Alumni Outreach for this new Winter Edition. This edition includes an Alumni category which means previous Idol finalists can submit videos and compete from anywhere in the world! The regular K-12 program will of course be running, so if your kids or you personally would like to compete I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to audition. You can feel free to DM me or contact me (info on my page) with any questions, Alumni-related or otherwise. Let’s find the very first winter winners!
