Writing it down no longer makes it a want or a fantasy, it finally makes it real. Once it’s real, you can start to build your commitment to your goal... and eventually accomplish that goal. #mindset #goals #motivation #boss #womeninbusiness #womeninleadership #growthmindset #motivationmonday #empowerment #womenempowerment #focus #success #successmindset #dailyreminder #quotes #dailymotivation

Great reminder to embrace and celebrate your ambition/strength, even if others do not. #Bosslady #womenempowerment Created by @badass.femme Feminist: a person who believes in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes." -- Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie... #womensupportingwomen #empowerment #feminist #womeninbusiness #badasswomen #goals #motivation #growth #ambition #dailymotivation

Starting my morning right I’ve been trying to do #selfcare before working because I’ve been noticing I feel sluggish in the morning - For me what works it’s waking up a little bit earlier than usual, opening my window for fresh air, having an easy read and a cup of joe. Today I felt like whipping out some poems since my brain can’t process too many words as I drink my coffee Simple as that. Ask yourself what you can do before work to feel more solid #mentalhealth #selflove #growth #mindset #morningmotivation #empowerment #bosslady

It’s Monday y’all. Usually I dread Mondays, but I’m switching it up today...I’m deciding that today will be a good day instead of dragging my feet. It’s all about your #Mindset

#EndtheStigma Thank you @mymindstrength @dr.laurencook @advocatinganxiety for helping further #education surrounding taking #medication. Society has placed a huge stigma surrounding taking medication which has lead to #misunderstandings and #misinformation. Sometimes medication is needed alongside going to therapy because our brains need that extra fuel. If you struggle with depression, your #serotonin levels will be lower. If you have endured trauma and have anxiety, #corti...sol will be firing and lead to elevated stress levels. Coping skills, trauma work and staying active/connected are all helpful and necessary...and if that is still not improving your mental health and/or it’s worsening, it’s okay to consult with a psychiatrist about medication to get informed about your options. Most psychotropic medications with the exception of anxiolytics, stimulants and hypnotics are not addictive. Addictive behavior is defined by intense urges, obsessions, loss of control and behavior to satisfy the addiction. Psychotropic medications do not create dependencies, where you need to keep increasing the dosage to receive the same effect. Nor do they result in cravings associated with addiction. Example: Antidepressants are designed to correct imbalances in certain brain chemicals. #Antidepressants can’t alleviate the environmental circumstances, however, they can alleviate symptoms enough to allow a person to pursue/receive more benefit from #lifestyle changes and #therapy. I’ll never forget when a client of mine who was fighting so hard and using every tool/skill she learned as well as doing trauma work - still had a hard time getting through her day. She felt validated when we had a conversation about medication because she finally felt she was not failing, but rather, needed additional #support. She’s been taking medication ever since and has been able to experience joy and see things more clearly. I have also worked in treatment/outpatient settings witnessing first hand how much a #holisticapproach to #recovery helps! It’s take #strength and #courage . There is NO shame in wanting to get better #mentalhealth #healing #mentalhealthmatters #therapist #empower

It’s important we practice what we preach and that our actions align with our words/values as mental health advocates. Sending you all love and care this holiday season. This past year has been rough and painful for many due to the pandemic. Many have endured various types of losses and social unrest around racial-justice issues...while also dealing with anxiety surrounding the election. It’s vital to continue advocating and working to create more equity in the mental health field - to provide support to underserved and marginalized communities. To help ease any suffering you may be feeling..., try and reach out/connect with loved ones via phone or video. Plan an activity to give today meaning, even if it is different from your normal traditions. We all need each other, now more than ever. Give yourself a little more love today. Embrace the love you feel with loved ones - this is the true gift we can all give and experience. Count your blessings and take time to appreciate even the little things as we heal as a people. #Christmas #makeitcount #gratitude #blessings #connection #healing #togetherwearestronger #holidaycare #holidaylove #support #community #decolonizementalhealth
