Harvard Business Review is one of my favorite reads. Years back I received the magazine and read it cover to cover. Now I enjoy searching for topics and reading articles online. I have been struck by the change in content. Nearly every article recommends meditation. This article shows how meditation alters the brain, in ways we could all benefit from no matter how you spend your day! Early on in my coaching with clients I recommend my they take on some sort of mindfulness practice daily. Some are intimidated because they don't know how. I give them a few tips and point them to some wonderful guided meditations, and they run with it. Every one of them has stuck with it and found tremendous benefits immediately.

It's no secret I'm a huge Warrior's fan, so I especially enjoyed this article. Even if you have another team on the top of your list or could care less about basketball, here are some great points about successful teams.

While out for a run this morning, I passed several people, greeting all of them. I was cognizant of the stories I was making up about each person. As humans, we make up stories all the time. I remembered how, many years ago, the stories I made up about others were really judgements. It was then I realized I did the same to myself. I’d look in the mirror and judge. I began to turn that around. I'd think of all the possible stories that could have brought that person to this po...int in their life. After practicing this for several years, it is now second nature. I ponder what motivates each person to be doing what they are doing. What drives them -- Results thus far? A goal? A loved one? I tell my coaching clients since we're going to make up a story, be sure it brings value to your life. Next time you realize you're making up what's going on with someone else, assess if it brings value to you. And think about all the possible stories you could make up that would support the other person. You will also be supported. See more

While I LOVE my coaching clients, and coaching is still a huge part of my business, I am expanding my teaching business this year. I have several lined up at this time, and I'm looking to schedule more. My training sessions are on topics such as leadership development, team, empowerment (self, financial, etc.), communication, and DISC Assessment. If you know someone in an organization who may be interested in this type of learning for their management group or staff, I'd appreciate an introduction.
