Mochi ice cream only takes 4 ingredients- mochiko, sugar, ice cream and cornstarch for dusting the mochi. It's a delicious snack as the weather gets warmer, and @taramctable did an in-depth review of this recipe from Mochi Magic on her blog, + posted the recipe as well :). The Japanese version of Mochi Magic is now for sale, in Japan!! O'Reilly, the Japanese publisher, even kindly sent copies of the book to all of my relatives in Fukushima :). I'm so honored that this could happen and that the book can now be used by my relatives and Japanese people!

Spring/Easter Mochi Donut Box I had to post this because how cute are these?? These are donuts were making to order in Columbus, Ohio @the.mochi.shop . I wish we could send them to all who didn't live here! But maybe this will encourage you to get creative in decorating your mochi donuts! The yummy white chocolate bunny butt and carrot are made by talented @ommaandkikisconfections !

Mochi chocolate chip pancakes with the daughter :). She helped mix the batter, and she is pouring the maple syrup in this photo! These pancakes are so yummy and super easy to make. They are made with mochiko, milk, chocolate chips, egg and a little sugar, honey and salt. Top with whipped cream and a few strawberries to be extra fancy :)

Too good not to share! @alexiemobley made the black sesame cream cheese mochi and the matcha cream cheese mochi from Mochi Magic :). Trust me when I tell you these mochis are a cinch to make! The filing is very simple- cream cheese, powdered sugar, and a flavoring (matcha, black sesame, rosewater, etc!). Combined with the microwave mochi recipe, this dish can come together in 30 mins or less!

Black Sesame Mochi Brownies! The last page in Mochi Magic has a matcha mochi brownie recipe but I also included a black sesame variation! Instead of matcha just add ground black sesame seeds. @camillewandering shared this photo with me of her sesame brownie!

Mochi Madeleines!! @shimojieats had the genius idea to use the Mochi Magic mochi donut recipe in a madeleine mold! These are both delicious, with a mochi-like texture, and so pretty! Add any kind of extract to flavor these madeleines, i.e. almond, orange, etc for extra fun!

Strawberry Pocky Mochi Donut made by @the.mochi.shop . We loved making this donut. The crunchy texture of the pocky, the lightly sweet strawberry flavor and the chewy, moist mochi donut underneath! Such a fun way to use strawberry pocky!

Mochi pancakes with a side of matcha syrup made by @camillewandering ! Both recipes are in Mochi Magic :). The pancakes are fluffy and chewy but not in a dense way. Easy to make and yummy with syrup, cream, fresh fruit, and any kind of topping! The pancake batter can also be infused with matcha or any other flavoring you'd like!

The Earl Grey Lavender Mochi Donut. Gotta say this is the mochi donut I could eat every day, it's that good and we make it at @the.mochi.shop . We steep organic earl grey tea into our glaze and then add @honeyrunfarm lavender-infused honey into the glaze too. So it's got that deep earl grey flavor with a hint of lavender. It's delicious with a cup of tea or coffee on a chilly morning! One of the many reasons I love mochi is how it is a blank canvas for so many flavors. Because you start with sticky rice as a base, the variations are unlimited. Just tap into your personal favorite flavors and you can make daifuku in that flavor, mochi donuts in that flavor, dango, and so much more. Read Mochi Magic for even more ideas :).

Take your mochi donut to the next level! This is the "Triple Chocolate", and we make it at @the.mochi.shop It's a chocolate baked mochi donut covered in a rich chocolate glaze, topped with mini chocolate chips and finished with a white chocolate drizzle. This donut is so yummy, chewy and chocolicious but not in an overly decadent way. The deliciousness of a Mochi Brownie can't be beat. It's super crunchy on the edges and gooey and mochi-like on the inside. It's one of my favorite recipes from Mochi Magic. @munchieswithmay made this mochi brownie from Mochi Magic, thank you for the picture, May! For vegans: You can use just water or vegan milk in the recipe instead of milk, and a vegan butter alternative plus vegan chocolate chips and it tastes so good!
