https://jimbotimes.com//virgil-village-loses-anthony-lil-/ Anthony Ruiz, 28 years old, was a life-long member of the Virgil Village community in the East Hollywood area of Los Angeles. On the evening of October 8th, 2019, shortly before 7:00 PM, Anthony was shot four times at the intersection of Virgil Avenue and Lockwood Street. He was rushed to the hospital, where hours later he was pronounced dead. You can read more about Anthony's life in the link above & we ask that you pray for his family in this difficult time. This Sunday, we’ll be celebrating Liz as she completes her tenure as an equipper at Kairos. She started 3 years ago and has been essential to this community, our youth group, and the Kairos Kids. We love you Liz!

Thanks, Ecclesia Network for including this blurb about Kairos in the Network Newsletter! Kairos Hollywood has chosen this year to honor the individual efforts of those in our congregation to connect in the greater LA community and show God's love. We have what we call City Ministries where we volunteer or serve together around the city. In 2019, we've made the distinction between "gathered" City Ministries that we do together, and "scattered" City Ministries where we empower... each other's ongoing activities. It's been so exciting to financially equip what folks are already doing, and for our community to also hear these stories of God moving in the various corners of Los Angeles. So far this year we've been able to bless a number of people, including those supporting Girls on the Run Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Public Library Reading to Children program, BeWorthy, AbilityFirst, which is a Pasadena non-profit providing college and career training for those with disabilities, and Love & Archery, a home bakery that emphasizes knowing and loving one's neighbors. We pray that God will continue to bring renewal in all aspects of our city, and we're excited to encourage and equip our fellow believers in these specific ways.

Somebody once asked Dallas if he believed in total depravity. I believe in sufficient depravity, he responded immediately. What’s that?... I believe that every human being is sufficiently depraved that when we get to heaven, no one will be able to say, ‘I merited this.’ https://www.christianitytoday.com//nicole-cliffe-how-god-m
