Happy New Year everybody! May 2021 leave behind the unfortunate of 2020 and instead give us a year with lots of good to look forward to. A yea...r that also happens to be 90th anniversary of our beloved Akita Inu having been designated a Tennen Kinenbutsu (Natural Monument) of Japan. #AkemashiteOmedetou #AkitaInu90yearsTennenKinenbutsu
Gaigan (2 years) Result: Pending
All caught up on questionnaires and contact form submissions from before the holidays... so if I didn't respond to you, I didn't get it sorry.
Yay! And this morning we submitted 3 of the 4 required tests (plus 1 optional) for Gaigan. We'll get his 2021 eye clearances renewed as soon as COVID permits us. It will take a little more work but we're going to try to get Minira's foreign clearances recognized so she can be CHIC as well.
I hope to import some more Hokkaido and Japanese Akita in 2021 to help with the diversity and breeding programs here in the US. I will be looking to co-own one or more males. Right now I’m considering co-owning a brindle male Japanese Akita puppy and/or Gaigan (sesame Hokkaido adult). Gaigan MUST stay in Southern California. An Akita pup would ideally be on the west coast. I will send out more information to my list when I have it, so if you’re interested please make sure you’ve filled out our questionnaire to get on the list.
Brindle boy out of Hamaryuu and Ryoko, AKIHO registered, import from Hungary. Name still being decided. Coming in February 2021!
Happy HOWLoween from Naka and HANA!
Can you believe that Nezuko will turn one years old on November 7th?! Time flies! A friend in Japan helped us get the gold collar + lead used to show Japanese ...Akita. Anzu no Hana Go Shiranuisou Photos by Jami Craig
Puppies went to a pumpkin patch! We got some cute photos in costume and they got to experience pumpkins, hay, a corn maze, a tractor pulling a cart full of hay bales and people, large wheel narrows full of pumpkins rolling past, screaming children of all ages - in costume, children playing non a bouncy slide, other dogs, and even a piglet! Buffy was *intense* on the pig.
Happy Halloween from the Kaiju Krew!
Check out this cool mug with vinyl Kaiju Kennels Preserve Promote Propagate logo on it that Willow’s fam made for me!
Its no longer puppycam its just legs cam. Also I am giggling at how silly Buffy's legs look. https://www.youtube.com/watch
Our Elk treats made it all the way to California to Kaiju Kennels Japanese Akita and Hokkaido! Xander the Hokkaido Ken had a hard time staying still, but he's ...only about 8-9 weeks old so that's okay! Ebi the Japanese Akita certainly knew where the goods were Thank you, Claire and Jo Ann for humoring me and getting some photos :)
Kura’s co-owner got evacuated due to one of the So Cal fires so she’s with us for a few days
Bye Willow!! Have fun in Florida!
Weird surfaces to walk on? Able to see through it to the ground far below? Children screaming on swings nearby? Not a problem for these pups Poor Buffy tried to go down the slide but couldn’t cause of the leash, I had to help her back.
