UPDATE: Saw the Neurology PA who I went to for 10 years until she moved to Santa Fe Springs so she knows me well. Orthopedic surgeon said "this is not a structu...ral/skeletal problem. It is nueuromuscular." He referred me to his friend, a Neurologist in Newport Beach. Appt is mid-January. Anyway, Teresa Sokol, PA examined and tested me for at least 45 min. No rush, calm, extremely nice, professional. She has a feeling this is NOT a neurological problem as there is no atrophy and I killed her with my strength - thank you, Gardening! Reflexes fine, every part of my body she examined and tested was fine. (Yes, I DO have scoliosis!) Appt has now been made for me to see one of the lead Neurologists in her office for examination and nerve conduction test (ouch - yikes - HELL!) Then any other tests they may want to perform. However, I showed her a little trick I have been able to do for a couple years - to rectify the botched bunionectomy which caused one leg to be shorter than the other due to walking so my foot wouldn't hurt - I think muscle spasms in upper leg going into hip area pulling leg up shorter (??) - for what ever reason, I have mentioned over and over the past couple that my big worry about having a leg shorter than the other one was that it would cause BACK PROBLEMS!!! So, Teresa wanted to see how I stand that lowers my height 7 inches from 5'9" to 5'2" - I showed her the straightest I could stand and was way shorter than her whereas I have always been taller . Then I used my shorter leg foot and stood on my tiptoes and WHAM-- I straightened out and was tall again. I was fitted for a prosthetic shoe a few weeks ago but now think I need some kind of lift to put on the BOTTOM of my right shoe (I can only wear one kind of sandal and Uggs now) - but COME ON, PEOPLE, LET'S CORRECT MY LEG LENGTHS TO BE AS CLOSE To THE SAME AS POSSIBLE AND THEN LET ME WALK. So, now I am waiting to see Teresa's Neurologist, I have made several other appts with 2 other neurologists, a pulmonologist I went to for about 8 years - all in December/early Jan while WAITING.....Also, it is only common sense for me to think about heading to Mayo Clinic where I can see the nation/s top doctors, maybe spend 10 days seeing doctors, having tests and get accomplished what is probably going to take a year here. Not sure if they take my supplemental health insurance but if I find out they do, I will start working on that as my #1.priority. Anyway, Thanksgiving in a few hours and this year my birthday is also on Thanksgiving. Great day planned with just Dennis and me tomorrow - he even told me he's sing to me and that is rare! Then Friday my kids, grandkids are taking us out for dinner to celebrate my bday, Saturday, Denny's family is coming for our Thanksgiving celebration. Meantime, I am busy making , wrapping Christmas gifts, setting Thanksgiving table - white pumpkins, lace, succulents in white pumpkins, cornucopia filled with live succulents, wicker, my mom's fine china. Different - all off white, white, darker wicker olive tree branches and succulents. Buddybear Design has some Christmas jewelry for sale, but working overtime on the RESCUE DOG COLLECTIONB due mid FEb. I stay busy with many projects so I don't get depressed and to keep myself active and productive! ok, everyone, Happy Thanksgiving!!!! See more
