Help this beautiful baby find a Forever Family!!!

K911 Animal Rescue 14.08.2020

Chuck and Clark are two brothers looking for their forever home together! Not only are they special with their wonky eyes, but their story is quite special too.... Chuck was brought to us extremely sick and with a ruptured eye. Our friends Central Vet in Manteca asked if we could take him into our rescue, and in exchange they would perform the surgery to remove his bad eye once he was strong enough. Chuck spent two weeks on high calorie food and strong antibiotics. Two days before his surgery his brother was located and we were contacted asking for help with him too. Clark was also extremely sick with a badly infected eye; but there was still hope since it hadn’t ruptured yet. Because he was sick, he needed to be quarantined before joining his brother or any other kitties. While Clark was in quarantine his brother had his eye surgery. Clark began to decline in health: He refused to eat, the meds appeared to not be working, and he seemed to be slipping away despite my best efforts. I made the tough decision that I had to take a chance: I had to see if being with his brother would give him the fight he needed to push through... of course this meant Chuck could get sick again. I put Clark in with Chuck and despite not having seen each other for over two weeks, there were only purrs and head-butts. Clark immediately started following Chuck around when he had the energy- they walked side by side and intertwined their tails. That same night, Clark started to eat on his own again. Within a week Clark put weight on and was on the mend. When I say these two must go together, this is why. Clark most likely would have died without the love of his brother. This isn’t just because they get along and love each other- they saved each other and are inseparable! They like to explore and play- Clark will always follow his big brother Chuck. Clark still has a little bit of a wonky eye, but it reminds us of his past and how his brother saved him. These boys will be at Petco in Livermore Sunday 10-3pm. If you’re interested please ask for an application ahead of time at [email protected].

Eliza is looking for her purrfect family! We don’t know much of her history, but she was a stray who was brought into a shelter and had to have her eyes removed... due to unknown causes. I have worked with one-eyed and completely blind kitties before, but Eliza is a bit different. Because her blindness occurred later in life (she’s about 6 months old and was brought into shelter/rescue about a month ago), she is still adjusting to this. She prefers her safe area- a room that is her base and she can always navigate her way back to. I leave her room open and often find her sitting on her bed by the door, just listening to passing people and pet traffic. She doesn’t hide, she just likes the familiarity of her own space. Eliza gets along with other animals, and knows when it’s wet food time and how to make her way to the kitchen! She loves attention, she just prefers it to be in her safe area she knows and she will give you all sorts of head butts and purrs while you’re petting her. Given time, I know she will adjust to her home- it will just take her a little longer since she’s still learning to rely on only her other senses. Eliza needs someone who has a soft spot for a special needs girl and understands that this new way of life is scary, but she’s trying her best to adapt and she has a lot of love to give. Are you able to give this girl the best life ever? Fill out an application to bring home this sweet girl. I am hoping to get this girl into her home through social media, as being in an adoption kennel at a store or event would be very overwhelming for her.
