50 years ago, the National Chicano Moratorium Against the Vietnam War in East Los Angeles was the biggest gathering of Mexican American demonstrators in U.S. history with roughly 30,000 people marching down Whittier Boulevard. It was a moratorium because it was a call to cease the loss of Brown lives in the slog of the Vietnam War. 50 years later, Black and Brown people from all walks of life continue to endure systemic injustice. Justice X came together as Black and Brown lawyers to collectively fight against these types of injustices. We are united in a greater struggle. #happylaborday

Yesterday, August 4th, 2020, we, held a press conference to announce a class action lawsuit we recently filed against the City of Los Angeles alleging hundreds, if not thousands, of Los Angeles residents were misclassified as gang members or gang associates by LAPD officers. This class action lawsuit comes on the heels of three (3) LAPD officers being charged with fifty-nine (59) criminal counts as well as twenty-four (24) other LAPD officers being investigated for the widespread misclassifications.
