I was so happy to donate a giant Holiday painting to the YES Partnership fundraiser this year. Funny story...I painted it in 2013 and it was auctioned in a fundraiser. Last year the woman that won it brought it back to me because she was downsizing her house and had no room for it. So I got to offer it up again. The lucky winner this year was our newly elected Superior Court Judge Laura Krieg!! She is thrilled to have it as part of her permanent Christmas decor, especially with the Red Church having so much family history. And I am thrilled that it has gone to a wonderful home. It is 3' x 4', painted with acrylics, adorned with gold leaf, and hand lettered. What an honor, Your Honor!! Had to have masks on, masks off. We just took them off at the photo op.

I am kinda preoccupied with trying to save what's left of @brushandcork right now and haven't had much time to paint my own stuff or create a website to sell my art. My heart is saddened and full at the same time. A dear artist friend has put herself into hospice. I brought her some of my recent artwork to share between artist friends, as we have over the years. My Antelope brought her to emotional tears, as she loved to see where I have come to. I offered it up to hang opposite her bed to watch over her and give her serenity. She was thrilled and has told me the peace that it is giving her. I couldn't ask for more, other than I wish she could live to enjoy it for years to come.

Finding the words... For over 30 years I have worked strictly by commission, painting signs, murals, and fine art. Most artists don't particularly like working by commission, feeling the client's guidelines can be restrictive. I enjoyed interpreting my clients' dreams into a visual reality. But I wanted to explore where my own art would take me. THAT felt very difficult. I wasn't used to coming up with my own themes. It lead me to seek guidance within and without. I started u...sing a beautiful collection of medicine cards to help me understand my inner strengths and motivation. It was perfect. The cards that I pulled when I was stressed or felt that I needed guidance always spoke directly to my personal needs and actions that I needed to be conscious of. It was like they were asking me to visually interpret what they were telling me. Because of Covid, I was given time to explore these guides as they helped me, I thought they might speak to others as well. This particular piece, "At All Costs" took a while to speak for itself. During these past few months so many of us have found a deeper meaning with family. We protect the ones we love at all costs, from the outside world of pandemics, natural disasters, and threats yet unseen. Our nest is our most cherished of all things in our lives. The fight and struggle to protect never ends and we don't want it to. Loving your nest today and always. This piece is 36" x 48", acrylics on canvas, $1275. Please PM me for details.
