We do 2 half-hour classes per evening and provide notes in a 3-ring binder. 9 classes in all, including: Bible Anthropology, Christology, Pneumatology, Ecclesiology, and Eschatology. Like many Christian Congregations, we teach that Jesus Christ was a healer of broken bodies and that he is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Since this past Christmas day 2018, we have had the opportunity to see Jesus the Healer in action. On Christmas day, Yolanda Marshall, a Jubilee member since 1996, suffered a heart attack at a Christmas dinner party. She experienced cardiac arrest for over five minutes until she received CPR from one of the dinner guests. She was... rushed to Tri-Cities hospital in Oceanside CA where she hung between life and death for the next 48 hours. She continued in a coma on into the New Year for the next 13 days. During that time, the Jubilee family and friends fasted and prayed that God would restore her mind and body. The miracle began to unfold when Yolanda opened her eyes on Day 14. By Day 21, she could answer yes/no questions by nodding. The following week, she amazed us by speaking and moving her hands and arms. Then, on Jan 31, Yolanda sat up and was able to take herself to the bathroom. The following week she was strong enough to receive a defibrillator, greatly reducing the threat of future heart failure. Last we she was transferred to a rehab facility near Penasquitos CA. We’re still praying for Yolanda’s full recovery and return to active membership at Jubilee Fellowship, which included leading worship once a month, singing alto on our High Praise Worship Team, and composer of worship scripture songs. Jesus said, I am the Resurrection and the Life.

HOW NEW TESTAMENT CONGREGATIONS GROW. We just celebrated Confirmation Sunday at Jubilee, having installed 9 new confirmed members through the New Testament ministry of the laying on of hands. This was part of the disciple-making process found in the Book of Acts (see Heb 6.1-2, 1 Tm 4.14, Acts 13.1-3, Rom 1.11), which begins with repentance from sin & confessing Christ as Lord & Savior, and continues with believer’s baptism by immersion. These 9 absorbed a 4-part Bible study ...focusing on the Local Church as a spiritual family where we grow by Belonging, Believing, Behaving, and Becoming the individuals that God had in mind from before the foundation of the world. On Sunday, the 9 were given the opportunity to share their unique I Belong Here story telling how the Holy Spirit led them to this congregation. After this sharing time, our Confirmation Presbytery (the pastors, our guest minister Pastor Jon Eymann, and our Minyan leaders) laid hands on the newcomers, sharing words of intercession, inspiration and impartation of spiritual gifts. It was a precious and powerful time witnessing Christ-followers growing in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Tomorrow is the annual National Day of Prayer. I've been a pastor here in Torrance for over 20 years . . . and have only missed participating in this important event once or twice in 2 decades. Please consider joining me and other South Bay Christians at the Torrance City Hall flag pole tomorrow Thu 5/5 between noon and 1 PM for an hour of worship and intercessory prayer for Torrance, the state of California, and our nation's leaders, according to I Tm 2.1-4. This isn't a political rally but a holy convocation to ask God to build a spiritual wall around our city to keep evil out and gates to let the God-seekers into His Kingdom. See you at the pole!
