This is our world now. It’s alllll virtual baby. :: I don’t know about you but I’m feeling how much I really NEED in person community, even my introverted self ...is missing interaction with real live human beings and well, this is all just really stinking stressful, but we still need to connect even if it’s through a screen. :: We also all know how stress impacts our immune system in not so great ways but what do we do about it? :: We are trying to cope, but does the following coping strategies sound familiar right now? :: Staying up late watching mind numbing Netflix. Eating more sugar. Drinking more alcohol. Snacking more often. Skipping meals. Exercising less. Doing crazy exercise to cope. Shutting down emotionally. Feeling guilty for not doing this right. Loss of joy and excitement. Yup, this shit is real, and it’s tough, and we all need support to navigate how to stay mentally and physically healthy because we just don’t know how to do this but we for sure shouldn’t do this alone. :: I’ve been trying to start my day by just grounding myself. Going outside and simply noticing the sky, the leaves on the trees, the flowers newly bloomed, the sound of the birds. Just noticing. Nothing else. It’s simple but it’s so helpful. :: There’s a million more ways to support yourself right now and having some guidance is imperative, and that’s what we want to do for you right now, offer some hand holding and support to get you through this with your health and sanity in tact. :: Join @betterbydrbrooke and I for our next live #hangrybitches group starting Monday the 27th for some virtual community and coaching you through our Hangry program with a focus on supporting your immune system and coping with this all as positively as possible plus so so so much more. :: Link to join https://bit.ly/2yB2kZ7 :: Hang in there, we are here to help!

Here’s a nice finisher I like to throw in on upper body day. Start with skull crushers to chin press to shoulder press. 5-7 reps of each movement, perform 2-3 sets.

Dear clients, as most of you know we have been monitoring minute by minute (literally) the evolution of the COVID-19 crisis and in order to do our part in our community that we love so much, we have made the heart-wrenching decision to temporarily close our doors starting tomorrow 3/19/20. All classes will resume as normal for today (Wednesday) with our last class being this evening at 6:30pm. Our plan is to be closed for a week with the likelihood of extending this closure... based on the ever-changing suggested and mandatory guidelines so we will continue to keep you all posted as new information emerges. As we posted and emailed about yesterday, we have started a private Facebook group for our members where we will be posting workouts for you to do at home every day and John and I will be popping in with videos and other tips as often as we can. Our hearts are breaking for the world right now, as so many small businesses such as ourselves, along with, families, first responders, health care workers, grocery store employees, children and teenagers, college students, educators, and each and every one of us try to navigate a situation that none of us have ever had to navigate before. We are collectively all in the same boat and our goal at JS will always be the same no matter what: to be kind, compassionate, a source of light and positivity when things feel dark, to be loving, and understanding, and to offer a safe place to be YOU and to work on your health and fitness goals if it's here in our gym or if it's in your home. We are here for all of you. We will miss you all so very much and our hope is that by taking these extreme measures, we will slow this thing down and we will all be back in the gym together again sooner than later. Love to you all, The JS Family Here's the link to our private Facebook page for our members where you'll find us posting daily workouts for you to do at home. If you haven't yet joined, please do so! https://www.facebook.com/groups/2546110888938369/

We just sent an email out to our members with important info, please go to your inbox and read it! Also, we have started a private Facebook Group for our gym members where we will be posting workouts online for you to do at home. As of now, we are still open for group classes and private training but that will likely change over the next 24-48 hours as we continue to monitor the current situation. ... Again, please read the email and respond to us with any questions and to our members, please ask to join our private Facebook Group! We appreciate you all so much. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2546110888938369/

Helping you have happy healthy bodies is our business, and in light of concerns over COVID-19, we wanted to update you all on our plan of action. We always try to keep a meticulously clean gym and we plan to be extra aware of wiping down equipment, door handles, etc., and we ask you, our amazing gym members to help us keep yourself and your fellow gym mates safe and healthy as well. Please wash your hands before and after you work out, grab a towel when you walk in the door... to use during your workout so you don't accidentally and unintentionally wipe your face with your hands (it's such a habit, we all do it, so it's time to retrain how we often mindlessly and typically harmlessly do things). Most importantly dear clients, please do not come to the gym if you are sick. I know it's hard, a little bit of a cold usually doesn't keep us out of the gym, but with our current situation, this is a big one so please stay home, get well, and then come on back in! Finally, we have zero plans as of now to close our doors. A healthy immune system needs movement, nourishing food, lots of sleep and plenty of sunshine. We want to help keep you all safe and healthy but of course, we will continue to monitor the progression of COVID-19 as we know this is a moving target. For now, keep on coming in for your workouts, and we will continue to keep you all posted if anything changes!
