Meditation is a great way to help you refocus on what matters most this holiday season. You can’t control other people or events, but you can use meditation to help you navigate the overwhelming feelings. Try practicing the meditation on your own for 10 minutes each day from now through the end of the year to cultivate joy, kindness, and gratitude. With repetition, you’ll be able to tap into those feelings more readily, even when faced with the stress of the season. Our incredible Vedic Meditation instructor, @virucks_meditation is offering free 30 minute "Intro to Vedic Meditation" virtual meetings Go to virucks.com to sign up!

Joyce Wellness is a collective of wellness professionals that specialize in prenatal care Acupuncture and holistic medicine have been used for generations to provide pregnant women with safe, effective treatment for the ailments commonly experienced during pregnancy. We use a variety of techniques to help reduce pain and swelling, ease nausea and vomiting, and reduce pregnancy fatigue. Our team of independent contractors works closely together, along with... midwives, doulas, OBGyns and other birth professionals to support women as they transition towards their birthing time. Using a combination of acupuncture, moxibustion, and exercises, we can successfully encourage breech babies to move to optimal positioning for labor. At 36 weeks, we begin weekly labor preparation treatments which gently encourage softening of the cervix and stimulate the natural hormonal cascade of birth. This labor preparation protocol has been shown to reduce past date births, as well as reduce the amount of time in labor. When mommas have gone past their guess dates (aka due dates), acupuncture protocols can be used to commence labor. For more information, send an email to [email protected] See more

Packed with protein, fibre and essential fats, nuts are one of this season’s best buys. A golf ball-sized portion (about 30g) of unsalted nuts makes a vitality-boosting snack and, unlike most other options, contributes a mix of valuable vitamins and minerals Eating nuts as part of a healthy diet may be good for your heart Nuts contain unsaturated fatty acids and other nutrients. And they're a great snack food inexpensive, easy to store and easy to pack when you're... on the go. One drawback is that they're high in calories, so it's important to limit portions. But choosing nuts instead of a less healthy snack may just help you stick to a heart-healthy diet We offer nutritional counseling that is based on each individual patient’s needs. Using a whole foods approach, our practitioners incorporate modern research on food biochemistry with the fundamentals of oriental medicine nutritional therapy. Essential nutrients are compounds that the body can’t make or can’t make in sufficient quantity. These nutrients must come from food, and they’re vital for disease prevention, growth, and good health. While there are many essential nutrients, they can be broken into two categories: macronutrients and micronutrients. Macronutrients are eaten in large amounts and include the primary building blocks of your diet protein, carbohydrates, and fat which provide your body with en...ergy. Vitamins and minerals are micronutrients, and small doses go a long way. There are six main groups of essential micronutrients and macronutrients. 1. Protein 2. Carbohydrates 3. Fats 4. Vitamins 5. Minerals 6. Water Eating a varied diet full of fruits, vegetables, healthy proteins and fats, and whole grains is the best way to get enough of these six essential nutrients plus the important category of phytonutrients the beneficial chemicals in colorful plants that prevent disease. We are proud to offer nutritional counseling that is based on each individual patient’s needs. Using a whole foods approach, our practitioners incorporate modern research on food biochemistry with the fundamentals of oriental medicine nutritional therapy. We help patients discover their metabolic type so that food choices can be made to optimize brain and body function, while helping to alleviate acute medical conditions. Call us for a consultation

Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners believe the human body has more than 2,000 acupuncture points connected by pathways or meridians Acupuncture points stimulate the central nervous system. This, in turn, releases chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These biochemical changes help stimulate the body's natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being. National Institutes of Health (NIH) studies have shown that acupuncture is an e...ffective treatment alone or in combination with conventional therapies to treat the following: Nausea caused by surgical anesthesia and cancer chemotherapy Dental pain after surgery Addiction Headaches Menstrual cramps Fertility Tennis elbow Fibromyalgia Myofascial pain Osteoarthritis Low back pain Carpal tunnel syndrome Asthma Stroke rehabilitation. ... and more! I believe strongly that controversial issues are controversial for good reason: there is often truth on both sides. We have seen great public health successes with some vaccination programs (the polio vaccine has helped to eradicate polio from many communities around the world). At the same time, vaccinations are not devoid of risk. In developing that successful polio vaccine, 140,000 people contracted polio from the vaccine (mostly children) and many were permanently paralyz...ed and some died. As well, hundreds of millions of dollars are paid out each year to compensate victims of vaccine injuries, some of which are fatal. There is so much research that has yet to be done to identify risk factors for patients who may have adverse reactions. What we do know so far, is that patients with chronic digestive issues and impaired detoxification pathways MAY be at greater risk. I personally vaccinate my family but I have chosen a delayed, individualized schedule that has been tailored to each of my children. I also use Vax Protect Herbal Tincture 3 days before, day of, and three days after a vaccine to support my kids’ detoxification and digestive systems. If you are interested for your children we have a few bottles in our clinic currently or you can purchase directly from www.davidallenlac.com. I do not believe in a one- sized fits all model for any part of the medical field. Ultimately it is so important for all parents to educate ourselves so we can make informed decisions. See more

"I've been going to Megan since the fall of 2016. After an ectopic pregnancy followed by a miscarriage four months later, I was devastated and my OB told me there was 'nothing I could do' to improve my chances for a successful pregnancy in the future. Well, she was wrong. I started seeing Megan and she really helped me get on track through a myriad of lifestyle changes. Megan also helped me track my cycles, and she was able to pinpoint that I have a super short luteal phase w...hich is linked to a higher rate of miscarriage. By working with her, we were able to move my ovulation up and increase the length of my luteal phase. That is something I never would have figured out on my own, let alone been able to correct on my own. No OB would have bothered looking at my menstrual cycle chart to figure this out either. Low and behold, in April of 2017 I got pregnant with my son, who was born in January 2018. I had a wonderful pregnancy. No nausea, felt great, and baby did great too. I attribute much of that to Megan's good work. If you are struggling to conceive and looking for a smart, compassionate person to get you on the right path, Megan is your person! She had so many tips and tricks for me along the way. On top of that, she is just an awesome, fun person. It is truly a joy to work with her. I am currently working with her again as we are gearing up to try for #2!" - Nichole G.

What is moxibustion?! Moxibustion is a form of heat therapy in which dried plant materials called "moxa" are burned on or very near the surface of the skin. The intention is to warm and invigorate the flow of Qi in the body and dispel certain pathogenic influences. Practitioners often do both acupuncture and moxibustion in the same clinic session when appropriate to the diagnosis and treatment strategy.... Moxibustion is used for: Pain due to injury or arthritis, especially in "cold" patterns where the pain naturally feels better with the application of heat Digestive problems and irregular elimination Gynecological and obstetrical conditions, including breech presentation in late term pregnancy Protection against cold and flu strains Call or send us an email/DM to schedule an appointment
