Dear Friends, The Editorial Office of the Journal of Biomedical Research is pleased to announce that the Journal of Biomedical Research has been accepted for indexing in the Emerging Sources Citation Index(ESCI), a new edition of Web of Science. Content in this index is under consideration by Thomson Reuters to be accepted in the Science Citation Index Expanded, the Social Sciences Citation Index, and the Arts & Humanities Citation Index. The quality and depth of content Web of Science offers to researchers, authors, publishers, and institutions sets it apart from other research databases. The inclusion of the Journal of Biomedical Research in the ESCI demonstrates our dedication to providing the most relevant and influential biomedical content to our community.

Dear Friends, As the year of 2015 draws to an end and the year of 2016 is at our door step, I would like to send our best wishes and greetings for the holiday season and the coming New Year. Thanks to your fine contributions, the Journal of Biomedical Research has made tremendous progress in 2015 with improved journal standing among academic journals, improved citations (with a mean of 2.4 citations per citable paper published in 2013 and 2014), and expedited publication of m...anuscripts. Our papers are typically available electronically in PubMed within 2 months of acceptance and months ahead of print publication. The journal content is available at PubMed Central and at our journal website. The Journal will apply for coverage by the Science Citation Index early next year and we hope for a favorable outcome. In the coming year, we look forward to and appreciate your continued support which is critical to the journal’s progress. We will also strive to make this a better journal. On May 20, 2015, Dr. Hongbin Shen, MD, PhD, the President of Nanjing Medical University led the JBR delegation including Hong Liu, MD, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Zemin Yao, PhD, Editor, Ruiwen Zhang, PhD, Editor and Bo Cui, MD, PhD, Deputy Editor-in-Chief visited Thomson Reuters Headquarter in Philadelphia, PA and met with Mr. James Testa: Vice President, Editorial Development & Publisher Relations and Ms. Kathleen Michael: Senior Editor, Editorial Development & Publisher Relations (see picture below, from left to right: Bo Cui, Hong Liu, Hongbin Shen. James Testa, Kathleen Michael, Zemin Yao and Ruiwen Zhang)

Our journal articles are now available as Epub articles on PubMed (see example here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26273018). There will be a direct link on PubMed to our journal website that leads readers to the early released article. Dr. Bu Jin has contacted Charlesworth about setting up the journal link on PubMed. From now on, we will start publishing our papers as early release articles both in our journal website and on PubMed. This will reduce our 6 to 9 month lag in publication of accepted papers.
