Employee Spotlight resumes again!! This post is LONG overdue so it only makes sense that this Employee is extremely deserving of this recognition. Mitch has been with our team for 7 years! His job title is Driver Manager but he really is an invaluable Jack of all Trades His favorite part of his career is when things run smoothly. But when they don’t, he is good at putting out the fires and making sure everything is running as it should. He is always looking forwa...rd to new challenges and completing his goals. Mitch is motivated to work hard for his family. He wants to make a good life for his Girlfriend, Glorie, and future children; ultimately living the American Dream. His glass is always half full, constantly remaining positive.

Employee of the week Eli T Eli’s interview was short and sweet! ... Eli is a kind and caring young man whom cares deeply for his girlfriend Aleah and his adorable daughter Raina. Raina is 10 months old and has been a great blessing to their lives. Eli and Aleah have been dating for almost three years. Eli is an exceptional sponsored BMX rider, he enjoys riding his bike and hosting BMX events. Eli is motivated to work hard because of his daughter. The top of Eli’s bucket list is to own a home. With his drive and determination it’s only a matter of time! Eli has been at Johnny for 6 months now. Previously, he was a forklift operator at another business here in Chico. He appreciates being able to drive around to different places, see new things, and meet new people.

Employee of the Week Jessica K Describe your family: I have been with my super cute husband of 5 years, Josh, for 8 years. We rescued the best little human dog, Guinness, 2 years ago. He is a rambunctious little cattle dog mix that wants to chase all the squirrels and protect our house from all the delivery drivers. We moved to Chico 3 years ago from Santa Rosa and bought our first house 2 years ago. Other than that, I am the youngest of four and have 13 nieces and nephe...ws! How long have you worked here: Three years this last December What did you do before? I worked in the coffee industry for 13 years; with the last 7 as a store manager with Peet’s Coffee. I loved the work environment, my employees and customers- but needed a job that would provide more work/life balance. What is your favorite part of the job? Johnny on the Spot is the weirdest place to work (in the best way possible!!!) The team we have put together, is kind, hilarious, super hard working and it’s so much fun to be a part of that. My face hurts from laughing most days. On the other end, I love that I have been given the opportunity from my awesome boss to carve out a job where I am doing things that interest me and help make an impact on the business. What is something about you that you would like share? Let’s see.I like sloths, hedgehogs and succulents. I could live on coffee and diet coke, but try to be an adult and drink water. I love the podcast- My Favorite Murder; Grey’s Anatomy will forever and always be my favorite TV show. I yoga four times a week. I love to travel and my favorite vacation (so far) was my honeymoon in Italy.

Employee of the week Tommy D Our next employee featured is Tommy D. Tommy is a wonderful man full of great character and strong morals. Tommy does not have a typical family. He has been married to the love of his life Alicia for 18 years and they actually married 2 years to the date after their first date. He has 4 children Jade, Kristopher, Kassie, and Tommy III. He enjoys the Holidays and being close knit. He has grown up living close to his siblings and parents.... Tommy is a gamer. His dad was a gamer, his boys are gamers. His family connects through games. One of his favorite memories is gaming with his boys. They were all set up with their own bean bag chairs and TV screens. The Camp Fire changed his life in countless ways. His parents and siblings moved out of state. Tommy had been successfully self-employed his entire adult life. He owned and operated a tree service in Paradise. His business was burned and forced to close. Tommy was now job searching for the first time. He fell into a job here at Johnny, where he fits in perfectly. Tommy loves that JOTS is employee based, the business depends on the employees and Rachel takes fantastic care of us. Overall, Tommy is a wonderful asset to this company with his smile and determination.

Employee of the Month!! We are starting with the owner, the wonderful and graciously giving, Rachel Bartlett. Rachel and Melanie have shared the last 14 years together and have 2 children. Brayden is their 4 year old spunky wild child. Their daughter Brynn is a spicy 1 year old. ... Rachel started Johnny on the Spot in 1998. She quickly learned college was not her thing. She wanted to be outside and operating her own business. Rachel’s dad was in the Septic business and started Chico Septic, she followed a year later. Her employees are her most loved aspect of her job. Her proudest accomplishment is building a home for her family. She always believed that living in the country would be a far-fetched idea. It has come full circle and she has met her goal. The family enjoys the gorgeous sunsets and fresh air. Motivation is very important. Rachel believes that her motivation is embedded in her. She is the oldest child and always had to be a hard worker. She has always wanted to make her own schedule and do what she wanted, when she wanted. (Business owners know this to be far from true!!)
