We are so thankful for our amazing volunteers who served as well as our families who attended Family Retreat at Home! Our volunteers led virtual programming, delivered welcome bags, prepared and delivered meals, safely made doorstep visits, and so much more. We were constantly reminded that God is not confined to a retreat location, but He is alive and active in our kitchens, front yards, and living rooms. Jeremie Duckett is a combat veteran who knows that many military casualties come after soldiers return home from active duty, especially due to post-traumatic s...tress disorder and other disabilities. In fact, 20 U.S. veterans commit suicide every day. Jose and Jennifer have two children, Donovan, who is 11-years-old and on the autism spectrum, and 8-year-old Elliana, who has Caudal Regression Syndrome and battles chronic kidney disease. Caring for two children with disabilities is a non-stop, exhausting effort. Are you looking for ways to serve in 2021? Serve safely with Joni and Friends Central California! We are looking for volunteers to join our Chair Corps. Volunteers, known as "Chair Corps", collect used, but restorable, wheelchairs in our community and deliver them to our storage site. After our storage is full the chairs are sent off to a refurbishment center and restored to like new condition. Once restoration is complete, they are shipped to one of our partner countries and distributed to those in need of mobility equipment and the hope of Jesus. Every wheelchair collected is the opportunity for someone to experience the love and hope of Jesus Christ!
