When a termite colony reaches a certain size, it will split up and the termites will commonly grow wings, turn black in color and swarm. Termites primarily start to migrate in the fall and spring and swarming especially happens after rainstorms. Call us for a free inspection!

Termite Fact: New reproductive termites are winged, and able to fly.. These young swarmers are called alates, They leave their home colony and fly out to start new colonies, often in large swarms. Any two that find each other can be a new royal pair. They break their wings off and settle down in their new home (your home) to raise their offspring.

We get a lot of questions about this.... Winged Termites vs. Winged Ants (yes, both grow wings during certain times of the year).....
