Johnstonville Elementary School is exploring the possibility of offering a no-cost summer academy. We are interested in offering the summer academy primarily to our younger students, however, we also wish to gauge general interest. We ask that you submit a survey for every student in your household since summer programming opportunities will be grade-level specific. The survey link is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WTXY6S7 This survey will close on April 2nd. ... For more information, visit our website at www.johnstonville.org.

Good Afternoon, We have just learned that a fourth-grade member of our learning community has tested positive for Covid-19. Due to privacy rights, we are unable to disclose the name of the individual. As a result, we will follow our revised reopening plan. This means that the fourth-grade class will transition to distance learning starting tomorrow, February 24th and will continue on distance learning through March 3rd. During the fourth grade’s distance learning, we will co...nduct a deep cleaning of the classroom and prepare for their return on Thursday, March 4th. Chromebooks will be sent home with our fourth students today. Mrs. Wattenburg will contact our fourth-grade families shortly to help ease the transition into distance learning. Thank you, Scott Smith, Ph.D.

Johnstonville School will switch to distance learning today, January 27th, due to road conditions and our winter weather forecast. Your student's teacher will contact you regarding today's instruction. Thank you and be safe.
As you are aware, we are expecting a large snowstorm in the area overnight and during the next few days. As a precaution, your student’s Chromebook was sent home with them this afternoon in case we need to transition into distance learning. If we do need to transition into a distance learning, it will be only due to weather and not Covid-related. We are unable to take a snow day during this period because the state has required us to use our inclement weather days earlier this year for the sheep fire and hazardous air quality days in September. Tomorrow morning and for the next few days, we will make an evaluation of the weather conditions and notify you if we are transitioning into distance learning instruction. Thank you, Scott Smith, Ph.D.
