South Africa Botswana Photo Safari (August 14-26, 2020) This thirteen-day private Photo Safari will take you to three of the most stunning and exclusive wildlife conservancies in South Africa/Botswana and one of the world’s seven natural wonders Victoria Falls. We’ll have the freedom to go off-road, stay at sightings as long as we want, and pursue our photography in the comfort of spacious open game drive vehicles at optimum shooting times of the day. We’ll also have exclusive use of our camps and lodges, creating the opportunity to build the entire experience around our photography. Zabriskie Point is a part of Amargosa Range located in the eastern area of Death Valley National Park in California. Millions of years prior to the sinking and widening of Death Valley, a lake covered a large portion of Death Valley including the area around Zabriskie Point. The dark-colored material capping the badland ridges is lava from eruptions that occurred three to five million years ago. Centuries of erosion have created the series of dynamic landscapes we enjoy today. I always love photographing these types of desert landscapes early sunrise or late sunset when the colors are most alive.

Located east of Moab, Utah, Fisher Towers is a maze of soaring fins, pinnacles, minarets, spires, and strange rock formations towering hundreds of feet. Composed of dark red Cutler sandstone, the towers are topped by a harder Moenkopi sandstone draped with mud curtains. #fishertowers #fishertowersutah #utahgram #igutah #werutah #xputah #utah_project #utahillustrated

A panoramic view of Monument Valley. The buttes are made of three principal rock layers. The lowest layer is Organ Rock Shale, the middle is de Chelly Sandstone, and the top layer is the Moenkopi Formation capped by Shinarump Conglomerate. Spend a day shooting the iconic images of American West on our Canyons, Monument Valley & Arches Landscape Photography Workshop.

It all begins with a simple crack in the rock on the ground. Add a few million years and that crack opens into a deep winding gorge in the earth, with a narrow path and sheer sides. The crack has become a slot canyon. Although slot canyons can be found anywhere in the world, they are particularly numerous in the southwestern US, where the perfect canyon-forming combination of soft rock and extreme climate collide.

Arches National Park is perhaps best known as the home of more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches, some of which include the Delicate Arch, the Double Arch, and the Landscape Arch. However, the park also includes a wide variety of other geological formations in the Devils Garden and Garden of Eden.

COVID-19 has turned our world upside down and during this challenging time, leisure travel is not on the top of everyone's mind. And that's okay! When the world is ready for travel again, we will be too. Until that time, enjoy some non-COVID-related content and begin dreaming about where you want to go when the time is right!

As the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic continues to affect everyone around the globe, we understand the concern for how this may impact your travel and upcoming workshops. The health and safety of our workshop participants and instructors have been our top priority, and, as the situation has continued to evolve, we have been making adjustments to our workshop schedules. This includes the cancellation of all workshops originally scheduled for May, June, and July. We will attempt... to reschedule the Canyonlands, Monument Valley, & Arches workshop later this fall as conditions improve. I have been in touch with the participants registered for the South African & Botswana Photo Safari scheduled for August 2020, and we have collectively decided to make a final decision whether to proceed with that workshop in June. That being said, many of our workshop participants are more fearless travelers than most folks, accustomed to making changes due to factors beyond anyone’s control. We will resume our workshops when and where scientific and government authorities say that it is advisable. And we also want to give you the best possible experience. If anything changes regarding a particular workshop, we will contact registered participants directly. Thank you, John Bosma
