Many people have questions about couples therapy that make them apprehensive or afraid to come. Last month I was asked to contribute to an article about this for our local Style Magazine. This is the unabridged version that I wrote before they trimmed it for their purposes.

When someone is in crisis, it's important to get help as soon as possible. There are lots of helpful crisis resources available in the our area, but as a therap...ist, I've often had trouble finding them when I need them. This year for suicide prevention awareness month (September) and domestic violence awareness month (October), I decided to collect all the mental health crisis resources I know into one place. I'm expecting this to be an ongoing work in progress. Let me know if you know of any crisis resources that aren't on my list.

You may have heard about this in the news: After some back and forth with the Sacramento LGBT Community Center, it has been decided that police will be allowed ...to march in uniform in this year's Sacramento Pride and lots of people are pretty mad about it! I've talked with several people over the last day who haven't understood why this is a problem. I wrote this post to explain why this is such a big deal and why people in the LGBTQ community have a right to be angry about this. This year is the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots! If you don't know what that means, please read and share!
