One way or another, the body will make us slow down and listen. Whether that’s sickness, aches/pains, depression, they are signals that something is not being tended to.

Thank you to @feministsexed For creating this guide on how we can support ourselves This fight is a marathon not a sprint, we are protesting across the count...ry and many other countries have joined Protesting is starting to get demands met but there is still a big push, remember that you can contribute in many different forms Rest is not the enemy of change Your body and mind need rest in order to maintain its energy but rest isn’t just doing nothing there are many ways that you can recharge your batteries and stay energized for the long haul Here are small things you can do to recover your energy as you continue to fight racism and make sure that everyone knows that #BlackLivesMatter Take care of yourselves, friends Take care of your community See more

There’s something very soothing about this visually. It’s also soothing to place our hand over our hearts and just feel the heart beat. Try it out for about a minute and just focus on the feeling of the heart beat (try not to think, just sense)

Really good info on what self-soothing is and isn’t. The suggestions are worth the effort to put them into practice

Flip the phrases and this image is much better! There will be times where we do things to make others happy because they may need us, can't always be my way, etc but it shouldn't be the biggest box. This isn't an either or kind of deal, both are possible and ok, but make sure that you are doing things to make you happy the majority of the time That way, you have the energy and desire to do for others versus out of obligation, feeling resentment, feeling tired

I read this as be mindful of how you talk to yourself. We can have such a huge capacity of compassion and understanding for others but berate ourselves, put ourselves down and not give ourselves an inch of compassion for making a mistake. So, when your inner critic is kicking your ass next time, try to find the part of you that knows how to talk to a friend and let that one talk to you for a bit
