It seems summer keeps trying to come earlier and earlier. Today we made strawberry lemonade for a refreshing snack on this hot day.
Well we have been very busy this spring. Caterpillers turning into butterflys. Tree blooming. Egg dying and then our egg hunt yesterday. Bubble blowing and kite flying.
We are so looking forward to spring and leave the cold wet weather behind. We made our spring tree full of caterpillers. The caterpiller larva arrived today and hopefull we will release the butterflys the first week of spring. This is always my favorite time of year.
This is a drawing of the flooded chicken coop. See the feeder hanging in the middle and the chicken sitting on her roost.
Another indoor day. Hopefully our last for awhile. We passed the time playing musical chairs and making rain clouds and a rainbow. Here's a photo of the Ginger Bread House we made over Christmas.
Another rainy day. We made home made strawberry lemonade with Monroe's lemons from her tree. Yummy.
Rain again. The kids kept active jumping over jumps, balancing on the balance beam and jumping off steps. Dancing to the movement record, Lets Pretend by Hap Palmer. Always a classic and never fails to entertain. Tomorrow we will bake and play musical chairs, get the play dough out and finger paint. Rainy days are messy and loud. But the play must go on. Keep dry.
Well, I am having trouble posting photos. I have so many cute ones of our Holiday projects. Our biggest project so far has been the making our life size Ginger Bread House. The kids are having so much fun playing in it.
After a week off I am ready and well rested to begin again tomorrow. We will start our pumpkin pinata and continue with Holloween fun, leading up to our costume party.
Tomorrow is the start of my favorite time of year. Holloween decorations go up and fall crafts commence.
We are loving these cool fall days. It's more time to spend outdoors collecting bugs and grubs to feed to the chickens. Their egg laying is slowing down with the shorter days but we still had enough to make eggs for lunch.
Time to rotate toys. The school kids are off and we begin again with the young ones.
What a fun week we had. The volcano still amazes and awes. The weather was perfect for lots of out door play and my lunch menu was a great hit. No left over food for the chickens. Today was egg sandwich day with the eggs we collected yesterday and today. Yum.
