Our sweet boy had to leave us Saturday. I am struggling to articulate the profound impact he had on our lives, how do I sum up his life? His spirit? It’s imposs...ible. He was more than words, he was more than actions, he was more than love. I keep coming back to the thought, HE WAS A FEELING. I don’t know how to convey it. I wonder if that sentiment is what stands out in my mind because he was an empath. Bear was our kindness, Lola was our light, but Flash, Flash was our strength. He lived his life without complaint and with great patience. He was a mamas boy, always by my side, always ready to protect, always ready to comfort. He made us smile everyday of his life, the bond we all shared was deep. We never dreamed we would be lucky enough to get nearly 13 years with him, and now that he’s left us, there is a void so vast we don’t know how it will ever be filled. We are taking comfort in him being with Bear and Lola, our original trio happily together, no longer sick or pained or weak. It feels impossible to convey all the ways big and small our dogs have shaped our lives, to find the words to express what they gave to us, the depth of gratitude we have is boundless. Thank you for the love, the loyalty, the joy, the laughter, and the memories handsomest box, it was worth every tear we’ll shed. See more
