The Week magazine quietly replaced a featured image on one of their pieces that various social media users were criticizing as being anti-Semitic. The Algemeiner reported that that the image, which was used on an April 15 piece titled Israel is testing Biden, featured a Star of David superimposed over President Joe Biden.

Myanmar (also known as Burma) is a Southeast Asian nation that borders Bangladesh, Laos, Thailand, China and India. This February, the Burmese military junta staged a coup and nullified election results from November 2020, in which the civilian political party National League for Democracy, won 83% of the seats in parliament. Since then, the military has brutally suppressed peaceful protests, arresting hundreds of people (including politicians and civil society activists) and killing over 700 people, including children. Last Friday, the military butchered over 80 protestors near Yangon. Thousands of others have disappeared.

Sarah Shaye, a ninth grade student at YULA Girls School and former student at Harkham Hillel Hebrew Academy, took sixth place in the Chidon Hatanach (National Bible Contest) competition held in Israel, besting 600 students from over 80 schools in the United States. To get to the final round, she competed against 50 semi-finalists in 30 countries and emerged as one of the top 16 international finalists, just one of three in the United States. At the finals she tied for fourth place, with the tie breaker giving her sixth place honors.

Earlier this week, Reuters ran a story titled, ’You are no longer my mother’: A divided America will struggle to heal after Trump era. The story led with lifelong Democrat Mayra Gomez, who told her 21-year-old son five months ago that she would vote for Donald Trump. According to Gomez, he then responded: You are no longer my mother, because you are voting for Trump.

Representative Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) accused of Israel of ethnic cleansing in a November 5 tweet, after the Israeli army demolished several Palestinian Bedouin homes in a West Bank village. Omar tweeted, This a grave crimein direct violation of international law. If they used any US equipment it also violates US law. An entire community is now homeless and will likely experience lifelong trauma. The United States of America should not be bankrolling ethnic cleansing. Anywhere.

The Palm Beach County School Board (PBCSD) in Florida reversed its October 7 decision to reinstate William Latson, who was fired in 2019 after saying he had to be neutral on the Holocaust. On November 2, the board unanimously voted to rescind the October 7 decision to rehire Latson, Fox 29 reported. What Dr. Latson did was open the door for the students whose parents are Holocaust deniers to, for generations to come, deny the atrocity of the Holocaust, school board member Barbara McQuinn said.
