"Hello, my name is Samuel, everyone calls me Sammy. I am a proud first-generation student with multiple degrees and am from the Latinx community. I am a native of Mendocino County and I have now lived in Sonoma County for about six years. I attended Sonoma State University and earned my Bachelor of Art in Spanish with a minor in History in 2017. I then attend Santa Rosa Junior College and earned my Associates of Science in Nursing this year, and I am back at Sonoma State Univ...ersity and working towards my second Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. I have been a nurse for five months and currently working at Spring Lake Village as an RN. I am excited about this new opportunity at the Jewish Community Free Clinic and to be working with such diverse patients of Sonoma County. I look forward to meeting all of you and learning from one another. Hola, mi nombre es Samuel. Soy un alumno de primera generación con varios títulos y de la comunidad Latina. He vivido en el Condado de Sonoma por seis años. Fui a Sonoma State University y obtuve una licenciatura en Español con un minor en Historia en 2017. Luego fui a Santa Rosa Junior College y obtuve otro título en Enfermería este año. Ahora, regrese a Sonoma State University para obtener mi segundo licenciatura en Enfermería. Tengo cinco meses trabajando como enfermero y trabajo en una residencia de ancianos. Lhasa OMS has supported the JCFC with acupuncture supply donations since we opened our doors in Santa Rosa. Their generosity has made it possible for us to meet the needs of underserved communities, including during wildfire and pandemic. Our Acupuncture services are being offered with added precautions due to COVID-19 but we are committed to providing care in these challenging times. We are so grateful to partner with Lhasa OMS in obtaining the supplies we need to provide this critical care.

This week we want to highlight Olivia Angell Madden, one of our Front Desk Volunteers. Olivia is studying to be a nurse and has been so dedicated and compassionate in her service to the Jewish Community Free Clinic and our patients. She has been helpful beyond measure in the COVID-19 transition and response, including as an excellent training resource for new volunteers. The Jewish Community Free Clinic is so grateful for her generosity of time and spirit in furthering our cause
