Portraits of grandchildren inside their late Papas wood shop. His space remains exactly how he left it. If Henry was home, he’d usually would be in his space of creativity and happy place. His grandchildren don’t remember much of him. The eldest just glimpses. My son never got to meet him. What I can say about my late father in law is that he always had integrity. With his words and with his actions. Shot from the hip and kind. You always knew where you stood with him. I...ntimidating, yet so generous. Loved each and everyone one of us with all his heart. He left way too soon. His greatest gift to his grandchildren is their dad and aunt. I think they carry his simple, honest, loving way of being. That’s how they get to enjoy part of his legacy. Never forgetting him. Personally when I asked for my wife’s hand in marriage and he said the best four words ever welcome to the family it hit me. His approval meant everything to me. . So with these portraits, I just wanted to capture his grandchildren, in his happy place. A place of many memories. Happy that it is a time capsule of a sort. Thanking my nephew Bryce for cleaning it up and helping his grandma. Thanking Brett, Kayla and Diego for understanding the importance and value of cherishing their roots.
