When booking a hair or makeup professional (team) for any job here are a few green lights to book them: 1) they have positive reviews on more than one online site! Not simply weddingwire, but google and Yelp. 2) they’re highly regarded among other professionals in the area. Especially when booking for weddings! Does your wedding planner recommend them?! That means they know they’re dependable and don’t run late. Does a photographer recommend them?! That means they like photog...raphing the hair and makeup artist’s work. 3) are they easy to communicate with? Do you have questions that they respond with clear answers? 4) they carry liability insurance and appropriate licenses. 5) they have a contract with clear cancellation policies and failure to perform policies. 6)lastly, do you LOVE their work online? Look over all images online, ig, Facebook and see if the style you want is represented in their work. One of the most asked questions I hear is: Why isn’t your hair super damaged since you color it so often? - The answer: I rarely lighten (bleach) my hair. I have my dear friend @mel_rue do my highlights about every 3 months or so and then I color it whatever fashion color I want. Then, I just let it fade out. And thennnnnn I’ll throw on another fashion color.... - Fashion colors are semi-permanent hair color (think; a deep conditioner). It coats the hair and doesn’t penetrate deep into the hair. Changgggeeesssss are happening around the salon! I love seeing all the great ideas come to life. If you’re ready for a big change, keep in mind they can take hours of salon appointment time. Think; 3-6 hours for major changes.... - Time and price transparency: this haircut and all over color was $260 and took 3 hours. - I’ll be posting LAST MINUTE OPENINGS WHEN I HAVE THEM Y’ALL!

Did you know that I purposely DO NOT filter or edit my makeup client’s photos (or my own face)?! It would be a shame to misrepresent my work...Also, false expectations suck. - So a quick tip: If you’re looking at an image of a makeup look...zoom in! Are there zero pores, under-eye lines, etc? Is the face so Smooth it looks like an anime character?... It’s most likely edited.. practice being skeptical with me.
