It’s time to vote for Malibu City Council. I want to encourage all my fellow Malibu neighbors to vote for two people: BRUCE LEE SILVERSTEIN and STEVE UHRING. We need the City of Malibu to work for us and with us, not against us. We need our building and planning department to improve dramatically and work for the residents of Malibu, not overreach into our personal property and charge fees that double or triple our budgeted projects. We need actionable plans in the face of n...atural disasters. We need dedication to PCH safety and a can do attitude that doesn’t give in it bow down to outside agencies when they tell us we can’t make PCH safer. We need our council-people to use their experience managing large projects as Steve Uhring has as a Business Exectuive and Bruce Silverstein has the legal expertise to find ways to protect the city as well as come up with creative legal solution to do the things our residents wantlike a true Poison-Free ordinance, schools free from any toxic substance, and effective enforcement to stop the drag racers and loud motorcycles that disturb residents all throughout the night! These are just a few of the many items that we need solutions for. I truly believe these candidates will DO and not just continue to talk about issues. They will hold our city staff to task until the job is completed. They will IMPROVE how our city works, so it works FOR US. I encourage you to vote for BRUCE LEE SILVERSTEIN and STEVE UHRING. But most of all I encourage you to VOTE and then hold those elected to task. Remember... THEY REPRESENT YOU! Please help students and teachers by sending a letter to : Dr Drati ([email protected]) To fix Smmusd budget you need to cut from the top down. First item to cut is your professional/consulting services line item for $9.4 million in ($5.5 million unrestricted and $3.9 restricted). The second is cut your bloated administration which has layers of duplicate adults doing duplicate roles and that is 30% bigger than any like-Disrtict. The third is your project based school unt...il the crisis is over. These cuts will resolve the mistakes made by your administration that messed up the budget in the first place. Public school is funded to EDUCATE KIDS and to do that they NEED TEACHERS. Every other position is icing on the ‘icing on the proverbial ‘education cake’. Cuts need to come from the icing: ie: admin, training, legal fees, etcnot from the kids or teachers. Please email Dr Drati and feel free to copy the middle two paragraphs.
